Características de la movilidad diaria en el Área Metropolitana de Lima y Callao, con base en la Encuesta de viaje personal en hogares de 2012 – Un panorama en mapas

This map collection was produced as part of the MODURAL research programme, which started in January 2020. MODURAL is an international and multidisciplinary programme funded by the ANR (French National Research Agency). It focuses on daily mobility practices in Bogotá and Lima, and highlights two issues that constitute a challenge in terms of sustainability and social inclusion: sustainable mobility and the specific situation of the people living in the outskirts. With this in mind, a first analysis of the latest available data on mobility in the Lima-Callao metropolitan region has been carried out. The data were taken from the Encuesta de Recolección de Información Básica del Transporte Urbano of 2012 (ERIBTU 2012). This source of data made it possible to characterise the mobility conditions of the inhabitants of the Peruvian capital, and more specifically the practice of the different modes of transport and the difficulties observed in the peripheral neighbourhoods. A series of indicators that can be classified in four dimensions has been calculated : (1) Characterisation of journeys, (2) Access to a mode of transport, (3) Equipment of households with means of transport, (4) Polarisation and flows. A similar report has been produced under the same programme based on the latest Bogotá Mobility Survey of 2019 (Look at here).
