A mobile application design to prevent criminal acts in Lima, Peru
    (ASTES Publishers, 2020-01-01)
In the province of Lima, Peru, criminal acts are increasing every day; it is a social problem that affects many people, who often try with the life of the indignant person, becoming the greatest fear of the community. For this reason, a mobile application was designed that allows the inhabitants to report and share the criminal acts that occur in their environment in real time, allowing them to prevent such acts. This application was designed using the Balsamiq tool, which allows each sketch to be developed in an organized manner. The result was the development of each module that addresses each of the functionalities of the application design for its correct structuring with the Balsamiq tool. These results will help the inhabitants of Lima, Peru, to expose the facts of which they are victims, without the immediate need to go to the police station, and which will be proposed for development to different competition funds.

Mobile application to reduce illiteracy in rural areas of Peru
    (IJETAE Publication House, 2022-02-01)
Illiteracy is one of the main problems that Peru faces in education, it is known that the highest percentage of illiteracy occurs in rural areas of our Country. That is why the research work is focused on children and adults who cannot read or write. Therefore, a mobile application prototype was designed to reduce illiteracy in Peru where they can learn to read and write with the activities provided in the application. A hybrid methodology was used, which is the union of Design Thinking and soft systems and the Moqups tool, since they were the most appropriate to develop this work. In this way, the result was the design of a mobile application that will make children and adults who do not know how to read or write to learn with the appropriate educational methods, such as the alphabetical method and the syllabic method, which will make their learning easy. and simple. Likewise, you can take advantage of the use of technology to improve and strengthen education, since educational technology is a didactic and innovative tool that can be implemented in educational classrooms. Keywords— Mobile application, hybrid methodology, educational methods, illiteracy, educational technology.

Mobile application on stopping the contagion of COVID-19 to reduce congestion in hospitals
    (IJETAE Publication House, 2022-02-01)
In 2020 the first case of COVID-19 was reported in Peru, the number of infected people was confirmed to be 1,001,227 people in the country, there was congestion in hospitals and only COVID-19 cases were attended, canceling patients' appointments. It was proposed the realization of the prototypes of the mobile application to reduce congestion in hospitals where the user registers his symptoms. The scrum methodology was used since it benefits in the realization of work that requires little time. As a result, 20 people from different districts were surveyed about the operation of the mobile application and prototypes were made about the operation of the application that will obtain the user's personal data, the answer to the questions that will be administered by the hospitals, and the results will be sent by e-mail or text message. Keywords—mobile application, congestion in hospitals, COVID-19.

Innovating statistics education: The design of a novel app using design thinking
(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI), 2024-09-01)
Statistical education at university level faces significant challenges, particularly with the rapid advancements in technology and evolving teaching methods. Updating teaching methodologies for statistics in higher education is essential. Information technologies can greatly enhance the learning of statistical content, but many existing platforms are not well-suited for university contexts, either due to language barriers or how the content is presented (often confusing, with limited explanations or lacking context). It is crucial to have a student-centered platform that addresses these issues, ensuring an effective and efficient learning experience. This study introduces “EstApp”, an innovative mobile application prototype designed for teaching and learning descriptive statistics in university courses. The application was developed using the Design Thinking methodology, which emphasizes user experience and focuses on the needs of the end users. The design process involved stages of empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, and testing, culminating in validation through user tests with university students and professors. This study concludes that EstApp’s functionalities enhance understanding of (1) statistical models through interactive graphs and data visualizers; (2) probability concepts via a probability calculator; and (3) descriptive statistics through real-time data generation and visualizers.

Mobile Application That Promotes Citizen Participation to Counteract Insecurity in the District of Los Olivos
    (Penerbit Akademia Baru, 2023-08-01)
Nowadays, in Peru, there are several problems, where crime is one of the most prominent; we see this reflected daily in the various criminal acts that occur in our capital city, which generates fear, distrust and insecurity in the population. For this reason, we propose the development of a mobile application that can provide relevant information on crime incidents occurring in the district of Los Olivos. The application has the function of notifying users and district authorities about incidents of citizen insecurity in order to generate various lines of communication, which, by being more efficient, provide an immediate response to these criminal acts, thus reducing crime rates in the district of Los Olivos. In addition, this application promotes citizen participation and empowers the population to be part of the decisions in public policies, it will also allow the Police of the Jurisdiction to take the necessary actions since they will have updated and accurate information on their mobile device. For the development of the mobile application was chosen the Scrum methodology because it allows greater efficiency in the development stages. Finally, its structure will be made with the Kotlin language, which will have the necessary Application Programming Interfaces (API's) and similar to Google Maps, to visualize and make use of these adding risk notifications about a crime in key locations, storing the information in a relational database for distribution through the virtual store of PlayStore applications.
