Item type:Publication, Employee creativity in war zones: Empirical evidence from small firms in Afghanistan(Life Science Publishing Co. Ltdopj@lifescience.co.jp, 2020-09-01)The major concern of employees during times of war and conflict is apparently physical survival. But how are top managers of small-sized companies enhancing the generation of novel and useful ideas by their employees in such physically dangerous business environments? In Afghanistan, as a war-torn country, this research examined for the first time how getting closer to employees—which is conceptualized as internal marketing orientation culture in our study—directly affects the generation of novel and useful ideas by employees in the workplace. Our analysis is based on survey data from 81 newly established small-sized companies in Afghanistan. Results indicate a mediating role of employees' perceived psychological safety on the relationship between internal market orientation culture and employees' creative work involvement. Moreover, we discuss the impact of employees' creative work involvement on small-sized firm competitiveness improvement in general. Finally, we extend our implications in the context of the componential theory model of creativity, which might also serve as a framework for future research. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
- Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Female entrepreneurship: Evidence-based high-impact perspective from Chile and Peru(Universidad Icesi, 2022-01-01)This study aims to highlight cases of women-led business (WLB) that achieved high-growth in the short term, contradicting the traditional approach of female entrepreneurship associated with precariousness. This paper uses a multiple case study, exploring examples of WLBs in Chile and Peru. The results show some entrepreneurial behavior patterns among WLBs, such as experience in the field, growth-oriented strategy, service innovation, accelerated expansion, high-quality products, and a particular attitude toward entrepreneurship. This study shed additional light on how some WLBs are not linked to subsistence or low-impact, as well as how public policies must support high-growth WLBs. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Sport is among the most important areas of entrepreneurship. In this study, we are looking to identify the major factors contributing to social entrepreneurship in sport. More specifically, the systematic approach of Strauss and Corbin has been used to develop a model of social entrepreneurship in Iranian sport sector. In doing so, we have conducted 10 in-depth interviews with sport experts. Accordingly, three major factors have been identified: individual, contextual, and institutional factors. Individual factors have three sub-factors, namely social, economic, and political factors. Institutional factors have two sub-factors of governmental and cultural support, and finally, contextual factors have three sub-factors, including financial, human, and cultural capital.
