Item type:Publication, Mejora de procesos para mitigar el impacto ambiental en una lavandería industrial(Universidad de Lima, 2020-07-01)DOI: 10.26439/ing.ind2020.n038.4816 Nowadays it is not enough to reduce costs or increase productivity; it is also necessary to focus process improvements on mitigating the environmental impact. Forthis reason, the current situation of the WALU industrial laundry was analyzed using the environmental risk identification matrix as diagnostic methodology to propose improvements that mitigate and eliminate the environmental impact, changing the business model to a sustainable one. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
- Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
- Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Agriculture and climate change. Impacts on livelihood subsystems in the Central Andes of Peru(Wydawnictwo UMCS, 2022-06-03)Climate change is a process that is affecting the daily living of societies in the world, especially because it disturbs the behavior of the ecosystems that support life. Agriculture is central to our existence and the effects of climate changes on crop productivity are already being studied with specific recommendations such as those given by FAO for tropical and mountain regions. This time, a rapprochement will be made to the impacts of climate change on subsystems related to subsistence food production and strategies that could be adopted to improve the economic income of its practitioners. Reference will be made to what happens in the Central Andes, especially in Peru, where, according to the 2012 National Agricultural Census, there are 68% of agricultural units from 0.1 to 5.0 hectares affecting 1,231,000 households. The objective is to show that there is a significant number of rural families that must also be considered in efforts to improve their quality of life that can be homogenized with that of the rest of Peruvian society. The development policies of family farming do not take into consideration subsistence farmers with agricultural units under three hectares, however, they should be included in the development agenda to ensure their sustainability against risks, such as climate change. The methodology of this research is deductive-inductive based on written documents and field experiences in different parts of the Peruvian mountains. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Gestión del capital humano: El Impacto del bienestar en el desempeño económico en los países de la Organización para la Cooperación y el Desarrollo Económico (OCDE)(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2025-11-24)Understanding the relationship between human well-being and economic competitiveness is paramount to guide sustainable development policies. This research studies the impact of three well-being dimensions —health expenditure per capita, Human Development Index (HDI) and Happiness Index— on economic productivity measured through GDP per capita in OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) countries. This study aims at determining the influence extent of these variables in the economic competitiveness and human capital efficiency, being the main contribution empirical evidence for the implementation of strategies that include well-being as development driving force. The research is based on human capital model (Grossman, 2017) and the approach of development as freedom (Sen, 1999), both highlighting the importance of health, education and quality of life in productivity. Based on a multiple regression model applied to 272 observations to The Global Economy database, findings reveal that health expenditure per capita and HDI have a positive and significant effect on GDP per capita (p < 0.05), which is considered an estimate indicator of economic competitiveness, while the Happiness Index does not evidence a statistically significant relationship. These findings confirm that investing in health and human development are key to determine economic competitiveness and highlight the need to include well-being indicators in sustainability and growth strategies of countries.1
