    Mediating effect of executive capacity for innovation between knowledge management and supply chain performance

    El objetivo del presente estudio fue determinar el efecto mediador de la capacidad ejecutiva para la innovacin, entre la gestin del conocimiento y el rendimiento de la cadena de suministros, en empresas pymes (pequeas y medianas empresas) del sector logstico portuario. Se analizaron los patrones de gestin en empresas pymes con ms de cinco aos, cuyas actividades estn directamente relacionadas con el manejo de la cadena logstica del Ecuador. Este estudio se encuentra estructurado en un marco literario donde se abordan las variables: gestin del conocimiento, capacidad ejecutiva para la innovacin y el rendimiento de la cadena de suministros. La tcnica de validacin del modelo propuesto son ecuaciones estructurales mediante estimaciones basadas en la funcin de mxima verosimilitud. Se encontr que existe una mediacin parcial entre las variables. Se concluye que las pymes necesitan capacidad innovativa para mejorar su gestin del conocimiento y su rendimiento en la cadena de suministros.

    The locus of Innovation and Knowledge Management: Can an enterprise contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals, just from inside? Literature Review

    To analyze the importance of the locus of innovation and resource-based knowledge management as a variable to contribute to Sustainable Development Goals among small and medium-sized enterprises. The paper tries to open a debate about thinking from situation and its real dynamics, in order to understand social responsibility efficiency. Literature is reviewed from different sources and experiences. We concluded that there is little written on this subject, while it is necessary to help a general narrative for enterprises who want to address innovation competences to social responsibility from a different point of depart. For this it is proposed to understand tools for prospecting complexity in the situation level, outside the organization.

    Prescriptive model for knowledge management in doctoral programs

    The expansion of intellectual capital, fueled by the generation of new knowledge, contributes to an increasing wellbeing of society. However, the gap between Latin American and other countries, due to the smaller quantity of scientific papers published and patents filed, presents a problem that requires urgent attention. The doctoral programs offered by our universities, important knowledge producers in our countries, could increase their intellectual production by using knowledge management (KM), in an analogous way to companies that have adopted it. In that sense, the goal of this research is to simplify the adoption of KM processes, formulating a prescriptive model developed from a theoretical and qualitative analysis of the relevant literature, contrasted in the authors' own discussions, from a perspective based on their combined experience as participants and administrators of doctoral programs. It is expected that the use of KM systems, based on the guidelines of the proposed model, will have a positive impact, implying an increased intellectual production of doctoral programs.
