Item type:Publication, Filosofía de la religión como crítica breve ensayo sobre las tareas fundamentales de la filosofía de la religión(Universidad Femenina del Sagrado Corazón, 2022-07-05)This article uses the tension between the unconditioned and the conditioned that Kant detects in the human being and that he presents in the Critique of Pure Reason in order to account for the internal dynamics of the philosophy of religion. In this sense, the work presents the way in which Kant leaves behind dogmatic metaphysics to give way to another, which is the result of the "constriction of reason". Next, the ways in which an attempt is made to condition the unconditioned are presented, both in the case of freedom, in that of thought and in that of spiritual life. The solution to the problem that Kant detects is offered in the abandonment of rational theology and the passage to the resources of critical philosophy, phenomenology, pragmatism or critical theory. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Unpacking argumentation: Identity and epistemic tensions in higher education(Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, 2024-01-01)This study unpacks three central literacy practices in argumentative writing within Higher Education: the formulation of a stance, the search for reliable bibliographic sources, and the development of argumentative frameworks. Theoretically, it is situated within academic literacies and recent studies in Latin America that adopt a sociocultural, critical, and social justice approach, understanding writing as a social practice. Methodologically, this ethnographic research follows a comparative trajectory of eight students in a university course on argumentative writing, based on cyclical conversations about their progress, a critical analysis of these conversations, and a review of institutional documents. The results conclude that students strive to produce writing that aligns with an objectivist vision of knowledge that is reproduced and promoted in higher education. This institutional proposal relegates their personal voices to the background and encourages “administrative-academic” identities focused on the collection and management of “reliable sources” and the development of argumentative frameworks that operationalize epistemic production in these literacy spaces. Thus, the research contributes to the questioning of literacies that from social justice, which have become established as hegemonic practices in higher education. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Socio-anthropological challenges of Agenda Setting Theory: Reconstitution of the model in a case study(HISIN (History of Information Systems), 2024-06-28)Despite the success of the now old Agenda Setting Theory, weaknesses of a socio-anthropological nature related to the paradigms and theses that support the theory continue to be reproduced: scope of positivist methods, analyzes unrelated to ideology and culture, mediocentrism, analytical fragmentation, among others. These limitations do not always make it possible to in-depth study of agendas in contexts other than those of traditional theory development (capitalist, urban society, Western democracy…). This article communicates the sustained reflexivity for the reconstitution of the theoretical model in order to deepen the relationships between the agendas in a Cuban municipality. Methodology: The theoretical proposal was based on the dialectical method of knowledge construction, based on review phases of international studies and the Cuban case, as well as empirical work to validate the deepening strategies. Results: The results led to a perspective of “interrelated agendas based on communication processes of relevance between social fields”, whose understanding abandoned positivist functionalism to settle on a communicational constructivism. Discussion and Conclusions: The implementation of this theoretical framework during 2019 in the municipality of Mella (Cuba) confirmed its relevance to overcome problems that have been widely criticized for Agenda Setting in the international framework. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, La libertad ingenua: contra el perspectivismo compatibilista de Spinoza y Dennett(Universidad Femenina del Sagrado Corazón, 2024-01-10)This paper criticizes a kind of compatibilism: the perspectivism, which can be tracked fromBaruch Spinoza –controversially in his case in modernity to Daniel Dennett in now days. This compatibilism states reality can be expressed or read from several perspectives, which do not cancel each other, but coexist. From one of those perspectives, determinism is a logical conclusion. From other perspective, at the same time, freedom exists plausibly. The paper argues that both authors subscribe an ontology a materialism with a unique substance which entails the possibility of a privileged deterministic perspective that invalidates freedom.
