The relationship between telework, job performance, work-life balance and family supportive supervisor behaviours in the context of COVID-19
(Sage Publications India Pvt. Ltd, 2021-01-01)
Telework has become a very popular arrangement that has grown rapidly worldwide, most recently due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is important to deepen our knowledge about the performance of companies and employees in the context of telework because the results of previous studies are contradictory. The present study examines the relationship among telework, job performance, work–life balance (WLB) and family supportive supervisor behaviour (FSSB) in the context of COVID-19. The data ( N = 519), which are collected from large private service companies in Colombia during the COVID-19 pandemic, are analysed using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The results do not indicate a correlation between telework and job performance or WLB in the context of the pandemic. However, positive relationships are found between job performance and both FSSB and WLB, and between FSSB and WLB. The findings help us to understand both the importance of WLB and FSSB for teleworkers and the way these factors impact job performance. The present results could help companies design strategies for the implementation of telework after COVID-19.

Perceived Organisational Support as a Mediator Between Green Organisational Culture and Organisational Commitment: Evidence From Manufacturing Firms in Peru
    (SAGE Publishing, 2025-01-01)
As organisations increasingly focus on sustainability, green organisational culture has gained significant attention for its potential impact on various organisational outcomes. One such outcome, organisational commitment, plays a critical role in enhancing employee motivation, retention, and overall firm performance. Another important research variable that affects organisational commitment is perceived organisational support. This study examined the mediating role of perceived organisational support (POS) in the relationship between green organisational culture and organisational commitment in large and medium-sized manufacturing firms. Using a quantitative approach, the study used a non-experimental, cross-sectional design and employed partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) to analyse data from a random sample of 154 firms. Data were processed with SmartPLS 4 software. The results revealed that POS exerts a complementary mediation in the relationship between green organisational culture and organisational commitment. A positive association was found between green organisational culture and POS, which in turn positively influences organisational commitment. While the links between green organisational culture and organisational commitment have been explored, the role of POS as a mediator in that relationship has remained unexamined. This study addressed this gap by demonstrating how POS impacts the green organisational culture-organisational commitment relationship. These findings offer valuable insights for managers seeking to enhance organisational commitment. By promoting a green organisational culture and supporting POS, firms can improve employee commitment, contributing to organisational success. This study provides valuable empirical evidence within a new geographical and industrial context—namely, Peru's manufacturing sector. Manufacturing firms play a crucial role in advancing global sustainability. The findings suggest that when companies integrate eco-friendly practices into their business models, they experience positive effects on organisational behaviour, which in turn enhances their competitiveness. Furthermore, in line with the organisational support theory, this is the first study that demonstrates the complementary mediating effect of POS on the green organisational culture-organisational commitment relationship.

Green transformational leadership and firm reputation: the roles of green supply chains and individual green values using Structural Equation Modeling
    (Cogent OA, 2026-01-14)
This study examines how green transformational leadership, individual green values, and green supply chain management influence corporate reputation in the Peruvian food sector. Although the literature assumes that these practices automatically generate reputational benefits, their effectiveness in emerging contexts with low regulatory pressure is unknown. A non-probability convenience sampling method was used to survey 359 managers of large private companies in Lima, Peru, and the data were analyzed using PLS-SEM in SmartPLS 4. The results show that: (1) green transformational leadership directly drives green supply chain management and reputation; (2) Green supply chain management, on its own, does not significantly affect reputation; (3) individual green values positively influences green transformational leadership and reputation; and (4) green transformational leadership mediates the relationship between individual green values and reputation. and (5) contrary to expectations, individual green values negatively moderate the green supply chain management –reputation relationship, suggesting that a perceived superficial green supply chain management erodes the trust of employees with strong environmental values. The study concludes that effective sustainability requires quality implementation, green organizational capabilities, and a comprehensive ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) approach, not just the symbolic adoption of environmental practices. These findings offer nuanced insights for managers and policymakers in developing economies.

Clean energy innovation, corporate carbon footprint and profits: Win-win strategic options
    (Elsevier Ltd, 2025-03-01)
The widespread use of fossil fuels in production processes, along with a heavy dependency on carbon-based materials in firms that emit substantial amounts of carbon dioxide equivalent, poses a global threat to both environmental and economic sustainability. A better understanding is needed regarding the relevance of clean energy innovation and its direct and indirect impact on lowering carbon footprints in the existing body of research. This study employed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses methodology for a systematic review, followed by an in-depth evaluation of findings. The review examined 153 scholarly articles published between 2018 and 2023, aiming to assess the evolutionary nuances of clean energy innovation in the context of global decarbonisation. Results indicate that 58.5 % of evaluated hypotheses demonstrate a positive association between corporate environmental and financial performance, whilst 31.4 % show a negative impact on profitability. The remaining 10.1 % yield mixed findings. Notably, there is a paucity of research on the potential moderating or mediating effects of clean energy innovation on this relationship. This study contributes to the scientific corpus by identifying two understudied research areas. Firstly, Scope 3 emissions have a substantial and positive effect on the major corporations' overall financial performance. Secondly, further research is warranted to determine how clean energy innovation can moderate or mediate the relationship between eco-innovation strategies and company performance. This research is vital for understanding clean energy innovation's potential as a pathway toward decarbonisation.

Adolescents' Relationships With Their Parents and Peers as Mediators Between Economic Circumstances and Emotional Symptoms: A Multicountry Longitudinal Analysis
    (Elsevier BV, 2026-08-01)
OBJECTIVE: Adolescents' social relationships might partly explain the increased risk of mental health problems in adolescents living in poorer economic circumstances. There are few studies in low- and middle-income countries, where most of the world's adolescents live. This study investigated whether adolescents' relationships with their parents and peers mediated the association between their economic circumstances and emotional symptoms in Ethiopia, India, Peru, and Vietnam. METHOD: Longitudinal data of 3,529 adolescents from the Young Lives study (1,741 female [49.3%]) were analyzed. Household consumption expenditure and adolescents' subjective assessment of household wealth were measured at age 15. The mediators-adolescents' positive relationships with their parents and peers-were measured at age 19. The outcome-emotional symptoms, characterized by low mood and anxiety-was measured at age 22. Mediation was assessed through counterfactual g-computation formula, adjusting for baseline and intermediate confounders. RESULTS: No evidence was found that adolescents' positive relationships with their parents or peers mediated the association between economic circumstances and emotional symptoms in any country. Living in poorer economic circumstances was typically associated with more severe emotional symptoms. CONCLUSION: Adolescents' parent and peer relationships might not mediate the effects of poorer economic circumstances on emotional symptoms in these countries, contrasting with previous studies that highlight an important role of relationships in high-income countries. Further research is needed that addresses limitations of this study and to explore other potential mechanisms, including different aspects of social relationships, that might influence mental health outcomes for adolescents living in poverty across different settings. Influence of Leadership on Human–Artificial Intelligence Collaboration
(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI), 2025)
This study proposes a conceptual model that explains the influence of leadership on the relationship between human intelligence (HI) and artificial intelligence (AI). A qualitative, non-systematic literature review was conducted in Scopus and Web of Science of the literature published in the last 5 years, using Boolean combinations of the terms “leadership,” “artificial intelligence,” and “human intelligence.” The thematic analysis allowed the identification of conceptual patterns and research gaps; the model elaborated from the review shows that leadership has an ethical and strategic mediation in the HI-AI relationship in a hybrid space of cooperation, in which automated decisions are put in real context through human judgment and reasoning; ethical governance mechanisms emerge for systems supported by artificial intelligence; and finally, a balancing mechanism to algorithmic efficiency is established through cognitive adaptability. The proposed framework offers organizations some guidelines for human supervision processes for AI-supported systems that integrate ethical evaluations into automated processes. It proposes elements—leadership tools that enhance the relationship between human intelligence and artificial intelligence. This article contributes to the management of organizations by proposing a model that recognizes leadership as a dynamic facilitator between HI and AI, integrating transdisciplinary knowledge of management, technological ethics, and cognitive science, and proposing an ethical interrelationship in the decision-making architectures between HI and AI. The proposed model establishes leadership mediation of human–AI interaction through four axes showing how leadership acts as the axis that brings together human and technological systems to work together. Hierarchical interaction creates a hybrid interaction that is highly flexible, efficient, and has ethical oversight. Finally, the proposed model is an open system that interacts with the environment and is understood as a flexible tool to support strategic decision-making in complex environments.
