Item type:Publication, Aproximación a la salud y bienestar en estudiantes universitarios: importancia de las variables sociodemográficas, académicas y conductuales(Universidad Internacional de La Rioja, 2020-01-01)The aims of the study were to evaluate health and well-being among a sample of Peru-vian students attending a private university and identify sociodemographic, academic and behavioral variables associated with them. The study assessed 1073 students; the majority reported a positive perception of their health but there is evidence of physical and logical symptoms. Multiple regression analyses were performed for each health indicator, and there were small but robust models for Global Perceived Health (R2 = .16, p <.001) Physical Health (R2 = .09, p <.001) and Mental Health (R2 = .15, p <.001). Regarding well-being, models were found for Positive Affect (R2 = .16, p <.001), Negative Affect (R2 = .15, p <.001) and Flourishing (R2 = .19, p <.001). These findings support the need for health promotion initiatives in universities. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, ‘Debemos aprender y manejar un poco mejor el español’(John Benjamins Publishing Company, 2020-04-01)Abstract This is a preliminary research about the linguistic attitudes of Afro-Peruvian participants living in El Carmen, a district located in Chincha (Peru), at the South-Central coast of Peru. Data were collected from in-depth interviews conducted to Afro-Peruvian participants born in El Carmen. Linguistic attitudes are addressed from a Mentalist approach ( González, 2009 ; Zamora, 2015 ). Results reveal that Afro-Peruvian participants experience linguistic uncertainty about their own way of speaking as they consider it incorrect compared to the Lima inhabitants’ way of speaking, which they perceive as more prestigious. On the other hand, they tend to assess negatively the way of speaking of the Peruvian Highlands inhabitants, as they consider these regions are plenty of indigenous languages from the Andes. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Mobbing y depresión laboral que afecta al personal administrativo de un instituto pre universitario en Piura, Perú(2020-09-01)Mobbing is a set of circumstances in which some type of psychological violence is exerted on an individual (s) during the workday, and that emotionally affects the workers, wrapping them in depression pictures. The objective of the research was to determine the relationship between mobbing and job depression of the administrative staff of a pre-university institute in Piura, Peru. The study has a quantitative, non-experimental design and descriptive correlational approach. Two data collection instruments were applied to a total of 38 workers and the results were processed in Spss, the findings of which indicated the following: The statistical correlation analysis shows that there is a significant relationship (Sig. <0.05) between bullying psychological (Mobbing) and the depression of the administrative staff of the Institute of Pre University Education. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Tomando como referencia las ideas de Amartya Sen, el artculo plantea una serie de preguntas de investigacin que la literatura de las ciencias sociales en el Per ha de enfrentar en el futuro cercano. Item type:Publication, El aprendizaje organizacional en un Instituto de Educación Superior Tecnológico del Callao(Universidad de Los Andes, 2020-08-01)The topic of this study is framed in learning organizations. The goal of this research is to analyze the perceptions of educational managers about organizational learning at a higher technological education institute in Callao. The applied method is a single case study. We worked with two categories: the first one, the generation of organizational learning, and the second one, the sustainability of organizational learning. The gathering of information was conducted through semi-structured interviews conducted with each of the educational managers of the institution. The analysis of the findings concluded that, in this educational organization, the generation of organizational learning begins with individuals’ knowledge and experiences, which are integrated as collective learning through teamwork; this process of integration demands the presence of a leader, who emerges naturally and contributes to maintaining the motivation and cohesion of the team towards the challenge of achieving shared goals, by generating new knowledge for the organization. For the sustainability of this new knowledge, the members of the educational institution draw upon the documentation of organizational learning, training and permanent self-assessment. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, La política sobre arrendamiento urbano en el Perú contemporáneo(Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, 2020-12-18)The article analyzes the urban leasing policy in contemporary Peru and seeks to explain the origin and permanence of contractual interventionism in urban leasing until the 21st century. All political periods are analyzed, from the governments of Augusto Leguía (1919-1930) to the governments of the last democratic transition (2000-2020) and it seeks to show very synthetically the multiple determinations of contractual interventionism. The analysis of public policy on urban leasing is developed within the framework of the contemporary Peruvian urbanization process, defined by the development of the so-called neighborhood as the way through which the urban popular sectors accessed housing from the decade from the fifties of the 20th century and how they were incorporated and integrated into the city; and the parallel weakening of the identification between slum, rental and housing of the urban popular sectors. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Diseño de un instrumento de gestión para evaluar la Cultura de Seguridad en el trabajo(Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, 2020-01-02)The safety culture that prevails within an organization and the way in which the latter addresses and manages safety problems has a significant influence on the safety-related behavior of people in the workplace. For that reason, it is essential that every organization is able to identify and objectively evaluate the factors that influence safety culture. This research paper seeks to identify the factors that affect safety culture and establish a qualitative rating scale for each. Consequently, the appropriate knowledge of each of these factors suggests more objective, accurate and effective safety actions. The review of prior objective European research led to the development of a proprietary methodology in order to design a tool that is applicable to the local environment that currently lacks one. The end result achieved was a questionnaire addressed to the workforce, which evaluated 32 out of 43 identified indicators that have a potential impact on safety culture, including the description of five levels of development for each indicator. Finally, the design of the tool to assess safety culture was validated and the incidence of four factors in safety culture was confirmed: leadership in safety, effective communication, participation of personnel in the construction of safety and existence of a continuous learning culture, which were associated with 24 indicators. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, The Ambivalent State: Police-Criminal Collusion at the Urban Margins(Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, 2020-12-18)En la literatura sobre marginalidad urbana, resalta la constatación de la existencia de lugares con mucha presencia del estado (incluyendo la violencia de los aparatos policiales), y lugares en donde el estado se echa atrás dejando que las cosas pasen, o simplemente no estando y dejándolos al abandono. Javier Auyero y Katherine Sobering van más allá de esta constatación y apuestan por intentar dar sentido a lo que llaman “el estado ambivalente”, es decir el estado que, en el mismo lugar y de forma selectiva, a veces interviene y a veces no. El resultado es no sólo una etnografía sobre la violencia en los márgenes de las ciudades, sino de hecho una etnografía sobre la colusión entre estado y actores criminales. Hitos de la educación peruana en el último siglo(Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, 2020-12-18)Retrospective of Peruvian education in the last century, which distinguishes four demarcating milestones: 1. Education as a privilege in oligarchic society; 2. The crisis of the oligarchic state and a new order in education; 3. The counter-reform and the commodification of education and social rights; and 4. The civilizational crisis and the questioning of the neoliberal educational model. The article makes a reading of the relationship of education with power, with society and with the process of transformation of the country. Starting from a combined analysis of five components, a general and articulating interpretation of what happened in Peruvian education in the last century is attempted. These components are: political time, the role of the State, the right to education and the priority of education on the agenda. It is possible to visualize the advances and setbacks of a process that does not follow a constant progressive path and that lacks an institutional and democratic base. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Cinco poemas de Adriane Garcia(Latin American Literary Review Press, 2020-06-16)The five poems translated here are part of A bandeja de Salomé [Salome’s tray], Brazilian poet Adriane Garcia’s unpublished book. These poems let know some of its most important characteristics: irony, subtlety and intertextuality when the author rewrites different stories of the Holy Bible. For example, as the reader will notice, Garcia’s critical vision emphasizes on public roles of women in those stories. Therefore, publishing these poems in bilingual, Garcia’s work increases the scene of Brazilian poetry and literature in United States.
