Item type:Publication, The role of technological innovation in environmental pollution, energy consumption and sustainable economic growth: evidence from South Asian economies(Elsevier, 2021-12-02)This study examines the causal relationship among technological innovation (TI), environment pollution (EP), energy consumption (EC) and sustainable economic growth (SEG) from selected South Asian economies. In order to identify the causal association between energy growth and nexus of CO2 emissions, this study is employed the premises of the EKC framework. This study has used annual time series data set from world development indicator (WDI), start from 1990 to 2019. The result of a fully modified ordinary least square (FMOLS) method describes a significantly worsen the quality environment in the south Asian region. The individual country as Bangladesh shows a positively significant impact on the CO2 emissions and destroying the level of environment regarding non-renewable and renewable energy and technological innovation index. However, negative and positive values of growth (GDP) and square of GDP respectively confirm the EKC hypothesis in this region. This study has identified the causality between GDP growth and carbon emission and found bidirectional causality between economic growth and energy use. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Experimental characterization of chalcopyrite ball mill grinding processes in batch and continuous flow processing modes to reduce energy consumption(Elsevier, 2021-11-01)A mineralogy, rheology, and energy consumption-based experimental characterization of chalcopyrite ball mill grinding processes, in both batch and continuous flow processing modes, is carried out in this work. Accordingly, chalcopyrite ore samples are initially characterized in terms of mineralogical composition, particle size distribution, grindability characteristics, and work index. Next, a rheological characterization of actual and lab-created chalcopyrite mineral-slurries is performed. Finally, an energy consumption-based characterization of several chalcopyrite ball mill grinding processes is performed. The results from the initial mineralogical characterization indicate ore samples featuring 5% chalcopyrite. These results also highlight that 80% of the particles present in the chalcopyrite head ore have a diameter smaller than 1386 μm. In addition, they indicate that the Bond ball mill work index is equal to 15.3 kWh/ton, which corresponds to a mineral with the presence of chalcopyrite. The rheological characterization related results indicate that all actual and lab-created mineral-slurries exhibit a shear thinning rheological behavior. These results also show that, because of the higher number of particle interactions, the slurries’ apparent viscosity increases with the increase in their solids content. Finally, the energy consumption-based characterization results emphasize that energy consumption is more significantly affected by mill speed than by slurry solids content. Indeed, for the same percentage of mass passing through a 200 mesh, it is found that the specific grinding energy decreases with both the increase in slurry solids concentration and the decrease in mill speed. The results obtained in this work are consistent with findings made in previous studies. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Intelligent water drops algorithm-based aggregation in heterogeneous wireless sensor network(Hindawi Limited, 2022-01-01)This paper provides a novel implementation of the intelligent water drops (IWD) method for resolving data aggregation issues in heterogeneous wireless sensor networks (WSN). When the aggregating node is utilized to transmit the data to the base station, the research attempts to show that the traffic situations of WSN may be modified appropriately by parameter tuning and algorithm modification. IWD is used to generate an optimum data aggregation tree in WSN as one of its applications. IWD assumes that all nodes in the environment are identical, resulting in identical parameter updates for all nodes. In practical scenarios, however, diverse nodes with variable beginning energy, communication range, and sensing range characteristics are deployed. In order to replicate the influence of heterogeneity in the environment, improved IID (IIWD) is offered as an enhancement to the original IID. The suggested enhancement is appropriate for scenarios in which the aggregation node is utilized to transmit data to the base station in heterogeneous configurations. In terms of residual energy, dead nodes, payload, and network lifespan, a series of simulation results demonstrates that the proposed IIWD significantly improves the accuracy and effectiveness of the IWD method in comparison.
