Telipogon chachapoyensis (Orchidaceae), a New Species from Peru Similar to T. microglossus
(American Society of Plant Taxonomists Inc.1000 E University AvenueLaramieWY 82071, 2020-04-01)
Abstract—Telipogon chachapoyensis is described as a new species. It is similar to Telipogon microglossus. We provide a description, illustrations, pictures, and information about the habitat of this new species. Furthermore, we present information and discuss the identity and occurrence of species morphologically similar to Telipogon chachapoyensis, which we call the Telipogon microglossus group, a distinct group among the Telipogon. We also transfer a recently described species, Stellilabium latialatum, to Telipogon.

Telipogon crisariasae (Orchidaceae), a new species from northen Ecuador
    (Magnolia Press, 2022-09-16)
Telipogon crisariasae, discovered in northern Ecuador, is described as a new species. Telipogon crisariasae is similar to T. octavioi but differs by its larger inflorescences and flowers, the rhomboid petals, the cordiform pink callus, and the sub-trapeziform stigmatic cavity. Illustrations and pictures of the new entity are provided. Furthermore, diagnostic characters of T. crisariasae are compared to those of other morphologically similar species.

A Revised Checklist of Lepanthes (Orchidaceae) from Peru, Including New Country Records
    (Springer, 2023-06-01)
We present a checklist of species of Lepanthes (Orchidaceae) from Peru, based on published reports supplemented by personal observations and the review of some herbarium specimens. Of the 81 species here reported from Peru, five are new records for the country and 44 are endemic. For each recorded species, we provide the accepted name, publication data, type, synonymy, and distribution in Peru by department and extralimital distributions by country. A map showing the numerical distribution of species by department and photographs of the five newly recorded and one recently described species are also provided. One lectotype is designated.

Telipogon rojasiae (Orchidaceae, Oncidiinae), a new species from relict forests on the western slopes of the northern Peruvian Andes
    (Pensoft Publishers, 2025-01-01)
Telipogon rojasiae , from the western Andean slopes of northern Peru, is described as a new species. Telipogon rojasiae is similar to Telipogon montufarianus , which is only known from southern Ecuador, but differs in its cream-yellow flowers heavily stained with red-vinaceous (vs. bright yellow flowers), the sub-rhombic to obovate petals (vs. elliptic petals), the number of veins in the petals (9–10 veins vs. 5 veins) and labellum (26 veins vs. 16–19 veins), and its sagittate callus (vs. widely subcordiform callus). We provide a description, illustrations, photographs, and information about the habitat of this new species. Furthermore, we discuss the identity and occurrence of morphologically similar species. The discovery of this new entity highlights the importance of preserving the relict forests of the western Andean slopes in north-west Peru and south-west Ecuador.

Telipogon choquequiraoense, a new orchid species from Choquequirao, an Inca archaeological site in Southern Peru
    (Springer, 2025)
Choquequirao Regional Conservation Area is a natural protected area in southern Peru, where an Inca archaeological site with the same name is located. The area is rich in orchids, many of which remain undescribed. Here, we describe a new species of Telipogon (Orchidaceae) from Choquequirao, which we name Telipogon choquequiraoense. The species is similar to T. huancavelicanus but differs by the sub-rhombic to widely lanceolate petals, the oblong labellum, the setose dark purple callus, and the acicular setae on the column. We provide a detailed description, along with a line drawing and pictures of the new entity. We also graphically show the Telipogon richness and generate a taxonomic key including all Telipogon species that occur within the conservation area.
