Item type:Publication, The perception of educators on gender equality: A study in Ecuador(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI), 2024-06-01)Gender equality is a prerequisite for people-centered human development. This exploratory and descriptive study was conducted to investigate the perception of gender among Ecuadorian primary school teachers. Quantitative data were obtained from teachers in public and urban educational establishments. In order to collect the data, an online survey-type opinion questionnaire was applied with the aim of finding out teachers’ perception of gender equality within their institutions in educational establishments in the Republic of Ecuador, considering the dimensions of personal perceptions of the subject, the organizational culture, and the implementation of gender equality in the internal management of the educational organizations where they work. The results of the questionnaire show that teachers perceive that there is currently more receptiveness to gender issues than in the past. From the answers received, it can be concluded that people identify with gender issues, even though there is a need for elements and support to enable them to be expressed effectively, on a daily basis and sustained over time. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Propiedades psicométricas de un instrumento para evaluar las competencias socioemocionales en estudiantes de secundaria(University of Murcia, 2023-06-29)The study of socioemotional competencies (SEC) contributes to the multicausal vision of a person's successful development. Following the Classical Test Theory and an ability approach, the design and psychometric analysis of the CSE-AS-Peru was proposed to evaluate these competencies in schoolchildren between 12 and 17 years of age belonging to public schools. A total of 1402 schoolchildren distributed among the seven Local Educational Management Units (UGEL) of Lima - Peru participated. A Likert-type test was constructed with 23 items distributed according to the dimensions proposed by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL, 2021). Content and construct validity was determined; reliability was calculated and scales were constructed to interpret the scores obtained. Coefficients within the statistical parameters are evident. Thus, Fleis' Kappa and Aiken's V coefficients reached significant scores. The Confirmatory Factor Analysis allowed for the validation of the internal structure of the test with coefficients higher than the empirical criterion. Reliability obtained congruent values by different analyses such as Cronbach's alpha, McDonald's Omega and Halving. The scales were unique because no significant differences were found between age groups. The instrument contributes to the need for relevant tests for diagnosis, research and psycho-pedagogical intervention on emotional education with adolescents in Peru. In addition, it confirms that SEC are stable over time in the range of 12 to 17 years.
