The goal is to adapt and analyze the psychometric properties of the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI) in workers of the national domestic violence helpline (Peru). Two measurements were taken in the same population (n=160). Translation-back translation was applied. Internal consistency was assessed with Cronbach’s alpha, corrected Item-Total Correlation and omega coefficient. Test-retest was performed in the second measurement. Convergent validity was examined with Pearson correlations with the Secondary Traumatic Stress Scale, the Perceived Stress Scale, and the Fear of Covid-19 Scale. Confirmatory Factor Analysis confirmed that the three-correlated factor model has the best fit. Regarding reliability, adequate coefficients were found (alpha: >.82, omega: >.91 and intraclass correlation: > .66). The CBI scales are correlated with the Secondary Traumatic Stress Scale, the Perceived Stress Scale, and the Fear of Covid-19 Scale, and they are also significantly associated with self-reported health status, but only work-related burnout is associated with self-reported workload. As a result, the CBI shows excellent psychometric properties. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Psychological capital and turnover intention: The mediating role of burnout among healthcare professionals(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI), 2024-02-01)Psychological capital (PsyCap) has been identified as an individual’s positive psychological state of development that can help to reduce negative organizational outcomes. However, there is still a gap in understanding how PsyCap influences different aspects of organizations. This study investigates the mediating role of burnout in the relationship between PsyCap and turnover intentions among healthcare professionals. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 320 healthcare professionals. The estimation of the relationships between PsyCap, burnout, and turnover intentions was obtained through structural equation modelling (SEM). A mediation analysis was carried out using bootstrapping procedures. The results show that burnout has a significant and positive effect on turnover intention and PsyCap has a significant and negative effect on burnout. Moreover, burnout fully mediates the relationship between PsyCap and turnover intention. These findings suggest that PsyCap can effectively reduce negative outcomes like burnout, but its positive impact may be limited when considering other outcomes such as turnover intention. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
- Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Being Present: A Longitudinal Study on the Role of Mindfulness on Engagement and Burnout in Teachers(Emerald Publishing, 2023-10-19)The purpose of this two-wave longitudinal study was to examine the role of mindfulness as mediator between social support and engagement and as a moderator in the relationship between work overload and burnout, both cross-sectionally and after one year. Design/methodology/approach: The sample consisted of 243 Peruvian teachers. Structural equation modeling and SPSS Process Macro were used to test the hypothesis. Findings: The results show that mindfulness mediated the relationship between social support and engagement at both times but doesn't moderate the relationship between work overload and burnout at either time. Originality/value: This study highlights the role of mindfulness as a valuable personal resource in the workplace, as it facilitates a higher functioning at work while identifying relevant organizational characteristics that have an influence in its use. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Salud en trabajadores de una universidad peruana: el rol de variables personales, compromiso y burnout(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2024-01-08)University teaching quality depends on the workforce of the institution, both teachers and administrative staff. Considering this population has been little investigated, the present study aims to know the role of variables (sociodemographic and behavioral), burnout and work engagement on physical and mental health in a group of workers in a private university in Lima, Peru. In order to achieve this goal, mental and physical health (SF-36), burnout (MBI) and work engagement (UWES) were assessed in a group of 512 university personnel from Lima, Peru. Results showed that, even when they keep a good physical functioning, there`re high report psychosomatic complaint, low energy, pain problems, overweight and poor health behavior. No differences between sex, age or type of work were found. The variables that better predicted physical and mental health were hours of sleep, work engagement, especially “vigor” component; as well as burnout components “emotional exhaustion” and “professional efficacy”. Moreover, “Cynicism” predicts mental health, but not physical health. Results provide important information about workers health promotion.3
