Item type:Publication, Knowledge donating and hiding as an organizational basis for intersectoral collaboration: a review of the literature(Universidad del Pacifico, 2020-12-08)The present article presents a literature review on the relationship between knowledge donating and hiding strategies as an organizational basis for intersectoral collaboration. The literature finds that sharing or hiding behavior is a question of individual motivation, which can affect the collaboration process among individuals in a public or private organization. An understanding of this motivation can help organizations to transform their management strategies, thus improving internal and inter-organizational collaboration processes. The review identified various strategies— motivational, social, and national cultural—that are considered to influence individual and group creative capacity and, in turn, on social and technological innovation, the creation of competitive advantage within an organization, and the development of social responsibility policies. The results indicate a lack of consensus regarding motivations, as well as a limited depth of knowledge regarding the behavioral strategies involved in knowledge hiding. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Collective compass to unit performance: Linking transformational leadership climate, trust and engagement(Emerald Group Holdings Ltd., 2022-06-24)The purpose of the study is to examine how shared perceptions of collective behaviors, such as transformational leadership climate (TLC), collective trust and collective engagement, affect unit performance. Design/methodology/approach: The sample consisted of 450 employees in 74 agencies of a financial organization, using measurements at the collective team level. Multiple structural equation modeling analyses were used to test the hypotheses. Findings: The relationship between TLC and unit performance was sequentially mediated by collective trust and collective engagement. Originality/value: This study highlights how employees' shared perceptions of different team characteristics can affect the overall functioning and performance of an organization. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, The role of information in eliciting support for inheritance taxation(London School of Economics and Political Science, 2024-12-04)This paper uses a survey experiment embedded in the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement (SHARE) for Luxembourg – a representative sample of the population aged 50 and above in the country – to show how provision of information influences elicited support for inheritance taxation. While support is low in generic, direct questions about inheritance taxation, support increases when respondents are asked to express views about linear tax rates with explicit tax exemption thresholds and when information is provided about how tax revenues will be used – especially if respondents are told revenues will be used to improve the quality of basic education. This information effect plays even in our setting in which the focus is on inheritances from parents to children. It is only relevant however for respondents who were initially opposed to the tax and does not affect strongly the proponents. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Everyday norms have become more permissive over time and vary across cultures(2025-10-07)Every social situation that people encounter in their daily lives comes with a set of unwritten rules about what behavior is considered appropriate or inappropriate. These everyday norms can vary across societies: some societies may have more permissive norms in general or for certain behaviors, or for certain behaviors in specific situations. In a preregistered survey of 25,422 participants across 90 societies, we map societal differences in 150 everyday norms and show that they can be explained by how societies prioritize individualizing moral foundations such as care and liberty versus binding moral foundations such as purity. Specifically, societies with more individualistic morality tend to have more permissive norms in general (greater liberty) and especially for behaviors deemed vulgar (less purity), but they exhibit less permissive norms for behaviors perceived to have negative consequences in specific situations (greater care). By comparing our data with available data collected twenty years ago, we find a global pattern of change toward more permissive norms overall but less permissive norms for the most vulgar and inconsiderate behaviors. This study explains how social norms vary across behaviors, situations, societies, and time.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
