Item type:Publication, Fotogrametría, modelamiento tridimensional y drones en arqueología. Primera parte. La ilustración arqueológica. De la representación artística al modelamiento tridimensional(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2024-10-11)3D photogrammetric modeling has brought about a revolution in archaeological documentation and illustration: 3D models allow one to interact and work with images and hold a vast amount of information. In this article we explore the development, characteristics and advantages of the various methods of archaeological illustration: artistic illustrations, technical drawings, photographs, video and computer-generated images. We explore the possibilities opened up by photogrammetric models, as well as the characteristics and differences entailed by the modeling of artifacts, contexts, sites and regions. The second part of this article will explore the different methods and strategies used in 3D modeling of archaeological sites. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Temporal Evaluation of the Surface Area of Treated Skin Ulcers Caused by Cutaneous Leishmaniasis and Relation with Optical Parameters in an Animal Model: A Proof of Concept(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI), 2023-07-01)Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is a neglected disease caused by an intracellular parasite of the Leishmania genus. CL lacks tools that allow its understanding and treatment follow-up. This article presents the use of metrical and optical tools for the analysis of the temporal evolution of treated skin ulcers caused by CL in an animal model. Leishmania braziliensis and L. panamensis were experimentally inoculated in golden hamsters, which were treated with experimental and commercial drugs. The temporal evolution was monitored by means of ulcers’ surface areas, as well as absorption and scattering optical parameters. Ulcers’ surface areas were obtained via photogrammetry, which is a procedure that allowed for 3D modeling of the ulcer using specialized software. Optical parameters were obtained from a spectroscopy study, representing the cutaneous tissue’s biological components. A one-way ANOVA analysis was conducted to identify relationships between both the ulcers’ areas and optical parameters. As a result, ulcers’ surface areas were found to be related to the following optical parameters: epidermis thickness, collagen, keratinocytes, volume-fraction of blood, and oxygen saturation. This study is a proof of concept that shows that optical parameters could be associated with metrical ones, giving a more reliable concept during the assessment of a skin ulcer’s healing. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Fotogrametría, modelamiento tridimensional y drones en arqueología. Segunda parte. Documentación, registro y modelamiento fotogramétrico de sitios arqueológicos(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2025-03-17)The second part of this paper focuses on the process of 3-D photogrammetric modelling applied to archaeological sites. A discussion of the three phases planning, recording and processing of drone and drone less photogrammetric documentation, is followed by a review of six site-recording strategies as determined by the capacities of the equipment used, the characteristics of the sites that are being modelled, and their geographical and topographic setting. These strategies are based on the documentation of over a thousand sites in all Peru, as well as on the various recording requirements in terms of the desired outputs.
