Quality in the supermarket sector in Peru
    (Inderscience Publishers, 2021-01-01)
This research aims to analyse the supermarket companies in Peru that have implemented or not a quality management system (QMS), considering the total quality management (TQM) factors. The instrument includes four blocks (top management, supplier, process management and customer) and nine factors, as well as 35 variables based on a sample of 73 companies in the Peruvian supermarket sector. In this sector, companies with and without the quality management system did not have significant differences in the nine TQM factors. It is also analysed if ISO 9000:2015 principles are considered in the TQM factors and if the managers in the companies are doing what they are asked in the questionnaire. This study gives a new perception and new insights about the management of the supermarket sector in Peru in terms of quality and the important impact that this topic have in these companies. A more comprehensive exploration of supermarket's quality management in developing countries with a different perspective would be useful for enhancing the literature.

Consumer behavior analysis on online and offline shopping during pandemic situation
    (2021-10-20)
Shopping has undergone a paradigm shift as a result of technological influence, with most consumers preferring online purchasing to traditional physical store shopping. The current pandemic scenario has resulted in a shift in customer spending patterns both online and offline. This paper identifies and analyses customers’ behavior towards online and retail shopping based on various factors affecting their behavior on which mode of shopping most they prefer during the pandemic situation. Primary data was used and a structured questionnaire was utilized to obtain the data. An online survey was conducted to collect from 200 heterogeneous kinds of people. The data collected were subjected to frequency analysis, Chi-square test, and Cronbach’s Alpha Test. IBM Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS v23) was used for analyzing the data. The results revealed that among the various technological factors the proficiency rate of respondents utilizing, the internet has shown a significant impact on the consumers’ preference towards the mode of shopping. Factors like quick product information, a wider choice of products, better prices and discounts highly influence the consumers to opt for online shopping, whereas faster delivery time and product quality reliability and accuracy influence the consumers to choose offline shopping.

An analysis of the content and quality of corporate sustainability reports according to GRI standards in Peruvian mining companies supervised by the SMV in 2018: deficiencies and opportunities
(Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, 2021-04-30)
Corporate sustainability has become a distinctive factor of global leaders, who communicate sustainable development actions using corporate sustainability reports (CSR) in accordance with international reporting standards such as GRI. In Latin America there is a high variability in their adoption and the Peruvian mining sector has been facing credibility problems due to the incidence of socio-environmental conflicts in its projects, despite its recent consistency in the presentation of CSR. A statistical analysis of a sample of mining companies that submitted their CSR to the SMV in 2018 showed that half of them complied with presenting CSR; nonetheless, GRI principles are not strictly followed. Reports stress the social pillar over the environmental and economic ones; with an imbalance between positive, neutral and negative actions; and do not present their sources to make data auditable. An opportunity is presented for the creation of a specialized area in the SMV to review CSR.

Study of the Methanol Concentration in Commercial Wines and Its Influence on the Detection of Quality and Possible Adulteration of Wines
    (2023-04-06)
In the present study, the variation of the sensitivity of the sensors prepared from SnO 2 doped with Pt, in contact with different concentrations of methanol present in Peruvian wines using an array of sensors (electronic noses), in order to find which sensors were the most appropriate to differentiate commercial wines from adulterated ones, it was found that methanol It is found in a higher percentage in adulterated wines than in commercial ones.sensors Pt-SnO 2 coated with zeolite Y were the ones that presented a higher detection of this alcohol.Zeolite can act as a selective element, especially in platinum-doped sensors. In the principal component analysis (PCA) obtained, a good total variance was observed (the value is missing) in the results for both Nose 1 and Nose 2 (greater than 70%) with correlations close to zero, which indicates the independence of the observations. With Nose 1, built by sensors based on Pt-SnO2, a good differentiation of Peruvian wines of known brands was achieved with respect to those of unknown brands (possible adulterated wines) when applying the PCA method.Through the cluster analysis and the Factorial Analysis, the results obtained from the PCA were corroborated.Additionally, with the Factorial Analysis a high value was obtained in the variance (99.26%) of the two factors.
