- Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Bringing managers closer to papers: measuring the relevance of business and management research(Taylor & Francis, 2021-12-14)This study aims to validate a data collection tool’s psychometric properties to explore whether business management research’s relevance is a high-order construct made up of its perceived interest and perceived relevance. The authors conducted a confirmatory factor analysis to validate a two-factor scale. The sample was composed of 148 MBA students from a Peruvian business school. Results showed the appropriate levels of validity and reliability and confirmed the usefulness of this data set for exploring the relationship between perceived interest and relevance. Businesses and schools can replicate the validated tool for reviewing their curricula and teaching practices, exploring the gap between business and management research results and advancing managers’ research literacy and evidence-based practice in business education and training. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Illness Identity Questionnaire in Ecuadorian adults: Analysis of psychometric properties(Centro Interamericano de Investigaciones Psicologicas y Ciencias Afines, 2024-01-01)Illness identity analyzes the way in which a chronic health condition is integrated into personal identity. So far, there is no record of the analysis of the construct in Spanish-speaking population. The construction four illness identity factors have been distinguished: rejection, engulfment, acceptance and enrichment. Rejection and engulfment are related to poor psychological adjustment and physical malfunctioning in the patient, whereas, acceptance and enrichment are related to adaptive functioning. In rejection the chronic illness is not accepted as the patient’s self-identity and is interpreted as threatening or inappropriate. Engulfment describes the way in which the illness dominates a person’s identity, causing individuals to define themselves completely in terms of their illness. In acceptance people admit their new condition as part of themselves without feeling overwhelmed by it. Enrichment, refers to individuals for whom the disease is a generator of positive changes that allow them to grow as a person, which is beneficial to their identity; this categorization has been assessed by the Illness Identity Questionnaire (IIQ) (Oris et al., 2016). The objective of the study was to adapt and establish the psychometric properties of the Illness Identity Questionnaire (IIQ) in chronically ill adults. Linguistic adaptation of the IIQ from English to Spanish was performed. The questionnaire was translated from English to Spanish; the forward and back-translation guidelines of the International Test Commission (ITC, 2016), and the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing (AERA, 2018). 450 Ecuadorian adults diagnosed with hypertension and diabetes participated in the study. Statistical and Psychometric issues: confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and multigroup confirmatory factor analysis (MG-CFA) were performed with the Linear Structural Relations program (LISREL 8.5). A stepwise analysis was used to establish the models in the single-group CFA and the multi-group MG-CFA (Byrne, 2021). The complete sample was analyzed and the best factorial model for the CIE scale was sought. Once the best model was found, the MG-CFA was carried to evaluate the degree of invariance of the CIE structure in the samples of men and women. In the MG-CFA, we first checked for configural invariance, where no parameter is constrained. Then, the metric invariance was evaluated, where the factor loadings in both samples and the correlations between the latent variables corresponding to each factor were restricted. The results of both confirmatory factor analyses were evaluated with the fit indices: Satorra-Bentler Scale chi-square test (SB-Sχ2), root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA), standardized root means square residual (SRMR), and the comparative fit index (CFI). The internal consistency coefficients (Omega), the mean and standard deviation of each factor, and of each subscale used in the study were calculated. As a result, the first linguistic adaptation of the Illness Identity Questionnaire (CIE) into Spanish was obtained, in a sample of 450 Ecuadorian adults with a diagnosis of chronic diseases. By means of confirmatory factor analysis, a model was obtained that reproduced the structure of four factors of illness identity, coinciding with the original instrument: rejection, engulfment, acceptance and enrichment, in the total sample. The multigroup confirmatory factor analysis, where the sex variable was considered as a moderating variable, was able to verify the configural invariance and the metric invariance of the CIE. The CIE shows evidence of convergent validity and discriminant validity with the active coping and avoidant coping scales of the Brief COPE questionnaire. The CIE has an adequate reliability. The CIE obtained in this study is very useful for research and practice in the field of Health Psychology. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Adaptación de la escala de sentido de capacidad para estudiantes peruanos(Universidad de San Martín de Porres, 2023-12-30)Background: The sense of capability scale, originally validated in French university students (Drouin & Costalat-Founeau, 2020), measures people’s subjective representation of their own capacities and theirperceptions of what others think about them. The aim of this study is to adapt the scale for university students in Lima, Peru and to analyze its psychometric properties. Method: 516 students from a private university completed the questionnaire. Factor analysis and correlations were used to determine evidence of validity. Cronbach’s alpha and McDonald’s omega were used to evaluate reliability. Results: Contrary to the original 2-factor structure, our results suggested a single-factor solution that explained 52% of the variance; the items had high loadings. The model was confirmed by a best fit (χ2 = 362.84; df = 35; p < .001; CFI = .99; TLI = .98; SRMR = .06; RMSEA = .10). A moderate positive correlation was found with positive affect and flourishing, as well as a moderate negative correlation with negative affect. There were no significantdifferences by sex, level, and career type. Conclusion: The new version of the scale shows evidence of adequate validity and reliability (α = .88) in students of a private university in Lima, Peru. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Leadership and Human–AI Collaboration: A Measurement Scale(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI), 2026-07-17)This paper aims to develop and provide the validity and reliability of a measurement scale that establishes the relationship between Leadership and Human–AI Collaboration. An instrumental study was conducted to inform the design and revision of a scale's psychometric properties. The techniques used for statistical analysis were carried out in three sequences, namely, the first consisted of collecting validity evidence based on test content; the second consisted of an exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis to gather validity evidence based on internal structure; and the third consisted of estimating the test reliability of internal consistency through the omega coefficient. The results show that the proposed measurement scale meets the psychometric properties required of a social-science instrument.
