Item type:Publication, Fast High Resolution Blood Flow Estimation and Clutter Rejection via an Alternating Optimization Problem(Cornell University, 2020-11-03)This paper introduces a computationally efficient technique for estimating high-resolution Doppler blood flow from an ultrafast ultrasound image sequence. More precisely, it consists in a new fast alternating minimization algorithm that implements a blind deconvolution method based on robust principal component analysis. Numerical investigation carried out on \textit{in vivo} data shows the efficiency of the proposed approach in comparison with state-of-the-art methods. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Applications of microarrays for mass spectrometry (MAMS) in single-cell metabolomics(Humana Press Inc.humana@humanapr.com, 2020-01-01)The metabolic network is the endpoint in the flow of information that begins with the “gene” and ends with “phenotype” (observable function) of the cell. Previously, due to the variety of metabolites analyzed inside cells, the metabolomic measurements were performed with samples including multiple cells. Unfortunately, this sampling process may mask important metabolic phenomena, such as cell-to-cell heterogeneity. For these studies, we must use analytical techniques that can robustly deliver reproducible results with single-cell sensitivity. In this chapter, we summarize laser-based methods for single-cell analysis and a novel approach of MicroArrays for Mass Spectrometry (or MAMS) is described in full detail. This particular type of microarrays was tailored for the study of cells grown in liquid medium using multiple-analytical read-outs, such as optical and laser desorption/ionization (LDI) or MALDI mass spectrometry.3 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Professional trajectories of women teachers in the engineering area of a private university in Peru(2020-09-30)The aim of this study was to analyze the perceptions of women engineering teachers about their professional trajectories. Regarding the methodology, the qualitative approach and the phenomenological method were chosen. In addition, six female teachers of the engineering area were interviewed. The main findings indicated that the motivations to redirect their professional path towards teaching were the acknowledgments, the promotion of research and schedules' flexibility, despite not considering it as the first option of professional development. Also, teaching provided them with opportunities to pursue graduate studies without restrictions, to care for their families and to postpone motherhood. However, working at a university meant facing organizational obstacles, such as differences in treatment according to gender and age, as well as practices of exclusion and favoritism. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Supernova Neutrino Burst Detection with the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment(White Rose University Consortium, 2020-08-15)Abstract: The Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE), a 40-kton underground liquid argon time projection chamber experiment, will be sensitive to the electron-neutrino flavor component of the burst of neutrinos expected from the next Galactic core-collapse supernova. Such an observation will bring unique insight into the astrophysics of core collapse as well as into the properties of neutrinos. The general capabilities of DUNE for neutrino detection in the relevant few- to few-tens-of-MeV neutrino energy range will be described. As an example, DUNE’s ability to constrain the νe spectral parameters of the neutrino burst will be considered.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Prospects for beyond the Standard Model physics searches at the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment(White Rose University Consortium, 2020-11-10)Abstract: The Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) will be a powerful tool for a variety of physics topics. The high-intensity proton beams provide a large neutrino flux, sampled by a near detector system consisting of a combination of capable precision detectors, and by the massive far detector system located deep underground. This configuration sets up DUNE as a machine for discovery, as it enables opportunities not only to perform precision neutrino measurements that may uncover deviations from the present three-flavor mixing paradigm, but also to discover new particles and unveil new interactions and symmetries beyond those predicted in the Standard Model (SM). Of the many potential beyond the Standard Model (BSM) topics DUNE will probe, this paper presents a selection of studies quantifying DUNE’s sensitivities to sterile neutrino mixing, heavy neutral leptons, non-standard interactions, CPT symmetry violation, Lorentz invariance violation, neutrino trident production, dark matter from both beam induced and cosmogenic sources, baryon number violation, and other new physics topics that complement those at high-energy colliders and significantly extend the present reach.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Aproximación a la salud y bienestar en estudiantes universitarios: importancia de las variables sociodemográficas, académicas y conductuales(Universidad Internacional de La Rioja, 2020-01-01)The aims of the study were to evaluate health and well-being among a sample of Peru-vian students attending a private university and identify sociodemographic, academic and behavioral variables associated with them. The study assessed 1073 students; the majority reported a positive perception of their health but there is evidence of physical and logical symptoms. Multiple regression analyses were performed for each health indicator, and there were small but robust models for Global Perceived Health (R2 = .16, p <.001) Physical Health (R2 = .09, p <.001) and Mental Health (R2 = .15, p <.001). Regarding well-being, models were found for Positive Affect (R2 = .16, p <.001), Negative Affect (R2 = .15, p <.001) and Flourishing (R2 = .19, p <.001). These findings support the need for health promotion initiatives in universities. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Problema ambiental: Los residuos sólidos.
