Challenges for higher education in Peru during the COVID-19 pandemic
    (Universidad Cientifica del Sur, 2021-08-30)
This essay describes and reflects on the experience of higher education in the context of the public health emergency resulting from COVID-19 and declared from March 2020 to the present. The closure of university settings has created considerable challenges for students and teachers nationwide. In this context, virtual education was implemented, in order to reduce infections and also to ensure the continuity of studies for young people. Virtual education brought about changes, most of which were forced and unplanned; however, they have also constituted an opportunity for the implementation of learning platforms and technologies. Based on a review and analysis of the scientific literature, this paper discusses the implications for students and teachers of this new virtual education scenario in Peru.

Validation of the Spanish version of the Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ-50) with Peruvian students
    (Taylor & Francis, 2022-11-03)
To evaluate the psychometric properties of the short version of the Spanish Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ-50, Spanish version). Participants: 1513 students from 14 universities in Peru, mainly females (61.5%), aged between 18 and 30 years. Method: Cross-sectional study with the questionnaire administered in person. Confirmatory factorial analysis was conducted to confirm the scale validity. Results: adequate fits were obtained for the multidimensional structure and for the second order factor of the test. Alpha and omega coefficients indicated adequate test reliability. Conclusions: The Spanish version of the SACQ-50 is a multidimensional scale displaying adequate reliability and validity. The scale may be useful for researchers and other professionals working in the university context.

Psychometric Properties of the Life Styles Questionnaire of University Students (CEVJU-Peru)
    (AIDEP, 2023-01-01)
This study aims at analyzing the psychometric properties of the CEVJU-Peru, which is based on the best 30 items of the Lifestyles of Young University Students Questionnaire (CEVJU, by its Spanish abbreviation) by Arrivillaga et al. (2003). This study counted with the participation of 1 265 students aged 18 to 30 years old from six Peruvian universities. Regarding validity, CFA and ESEM analyses were performed. It was found that ESEM's rates showed better adjustment rates, corroborating the six-area structure. Statistically significant correlations were found between some areas of the test, which supports the multidimensional structure. Finally, regarding reliability, alpha and omega coefficients over .60 were found for the six areas of the test. The 30-item version of the CEVJU-Peru is a valid and reliable instrument for use with Peruvian university students.
