Item type:Publication, Unlocking innovation: How enjoyment drives GenAI use in higher education(Frontiers Media SA, 2024-01-01)Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) is rapidly transforming education holds immense potential for enhancing learning experiences and fostering innovation skills crucial for success in today’s rapidly changing job market. However, successful integration depends on student adoption. This study investigates factors influencing business students’ intention to use Gen AI in Innovation courses, focusing on the role of Perceived Enjoyment. Method: A cross-sectional predictive analysis was conducted using data from 92 business undergraduate students in a Peruvian higher education institution. A survey questionnaire, adapted from Teo and Noyes, was used to measure perceived enjoyment, usefulness, ease of use, attitude toward, and intention to use Gen AI tools. Results: The study found a strong positive relationship between Perceived Enjoyment and the intention to use Gen AI in Innovation courses. Furthermore, Perceived Enjoyment was positively associated with perceived ease of use. Interestingly, perceived usefulness did not show a significant effect on the intention to use Gen AI. Conclusion: Our finding challenges the traditional emphasis on perceived usefulness as the primary driver of technology acceptance. Instead, our results suggest that prioritizing user enjoyment and ease of use in the design and implementation of Gen AI tools may be a more effective strategy for promoting their adoption in educational settings. This shift in focus from utility to experience could be crucial in unlocking the full potential of Gen AI to transform education.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Enhancing professional employability: The impact of Agile methodology training(International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES), 2024-12-10)In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, Agile methodologies have emerged as a crucial approach for organizations to remain competitive and responsive to change. Despite the growing adoption of Agile frameworks, there is a lack of quantitative research examining the impact of Agile certifications on individual career trajectories. This study aims to bridge this gap by investigating the relationship between acquiring Agile certifications and career out-comes, specifically focusing on professionals from business administration (BA) and computer science (CS) backgrounds. Employing survival analysis (SA), particularly the Kaplan-Meier method, we assess the temporal dynamics of career advancement events, including job pro-motions, job transitions, and changes in job responsibilities. Our findings reveal that the most prevalent career advancement is promotion, occurring on average after 1,102.98 days, while the average time for observing at least one career effect is 733.37 days. The study also iden-tifies scrum master and product owner as the most sought-after Agile certifications. These results contribute to the understanding of how Agile methodologies influence career progres-sion and provide valuable insights for professionals, employers, and educational institutions navigating the dynamic landscape of Agile adoption. The findings underscore the importance of Agile certifications in fostering career growth and adaptation to the evolving demands of the industry. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Determinants of SMEs’ willingness to pay for electric vehicle logistics(Success Culture Press, 2024-01-01)Small and medium enterprises face logistic challenges that can impede their transition to sustainable practices. One of these challenges is the successful adoption of electric vehicles in their supply chains. Our study investigated factors influencing the willingness to pay for electric vehicle logistics services among small and medium enterprises in Latin American countries. A survey was administered to 302 SMEs from Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, spanning sectors like retail, tourism, and manufacturing. Ordered logistic regression analysis identified social trust, perceived risks, and prevailing attitudes as significant predictors of willingness to pay. Despite recognizing the overarching environmental and social benefits of electric vehicles, most small and medium enterprises exhibited reluctance to incur additional expenses for electric vehicle transport. The findings highlight the need for strategies to build trust, mitigate perceived risks, and encourage positive attitudes to spur greater adoption of sustainable transportation options. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Faculty turnover segmentation for the retention of academic talent(Centro de Información Tecnológica, 2024-01-01)This study aims at defining typologies of higher education professors by identifying the most important factors that determine job satisfaction to improve their retention. The methodology is quantitative, non-experimental, and descriptive. For this purpose, a sample of 163 professors from an educational institution located in Lima (Peru) is surveyed to assess their perceptions, preferences, and job expectations. Applying a K-means cluster analysis results in three teacher profiles: promoters, indifferent, and critical. In these three groups, there are differentiated assessments on the importance each assigns to organizational factors (salary, benefits, career development, networking, and institutional prestige) when choosing a new employer or when assessing their current employer. In conclusion, it is important to design and implement differentiated professor retention policies for each group in order to respond more effectively to their career expectations.
