Item type:Publication, Creative incubator model as a catalyst agent to dynamize the creative ecosystem in a cultural city(University Library System, University of Pittsburgh, 2022-01-01)Objetive. The research aims to discover the most critical factors that must be considered when building a creative incubator model to generate value for artists, arts organizations, entrepreneurs, and creative companies by providing direct and indirect services within a creative ecosystem and cultural communities. The study seeks to document and support the role that creative incubators play in accelerating the development of the creative ecosystem within a cultural city. Also, highlight the importance of its location and the use of a platform based on creative ideas, innovation, and technology, considering the incubator as a critical actor within the creative ecosystem network. Method. Following the objectives defined for this study, a qualitative and descriptive investigation was chosen. For the research, the adaptive planning cycles and the action research design have been selected as methodology. Conclusion. The proper implementation of the "creative incubator" can provide more significant business opportunities, envisioning an articulation with the private and public sectors, seeking to integrate with other public policies that generate development through, for example, the Agency for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Region. The integration of these actors will make it possible to value the cultural diversity, knowledge, and practices of citizens, thus enabling sustainable development. In this way, the academy can contribute to improving the lives of citizens, promoting projects and initiatives that improve living conditions and the integration of creative entrepreneurs. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Interaction Between Design Processes and Innovation in the Gastronomic Equipment Industry in Peru(Sindicato das Secretárias do Estado de São Paulo, 2023-08-28)In Peru, in recent years, significant progress has been made as part of the objective of eliminating obstacles in the gastronomy value chain and identifying, in the current offer, factors that improve its quality, proposing actions to improve competitiveness. Meanwhile, the metalworking industry has shown a pronounced growth in recent years, also recovering exports, but has had less encouraging results in innovation indicators, which places Peru in the 89th place, out of 140, of the economies of the most competitive countries worldwide. Therefore, the main objectives of this research are the identification and analysis of the advances of gastronomic equipment developed in Peru, due to the enormous gastronomic growth evidenced as a result of the contribution of the State, the Academy and the Private Company. A descriptive research and a qualitative characterization of four specific cases of the cities of Lima and Arequipa is carried out, determining the opportunities that the sector has to improve its competitiveness and innovation. Product innovations developed in recent years and which have highlighted technical aspects of engineering design processes are examined, where the metallurgical sector involved is mainly represented by the small company. Thus, the way design is applied during innovation processes has been determined and key topics of study have been identified, as well as its impact on the interaction between design and innovation processes, through a proposed model using the diagram IDEF0 (Integration Definition for Function Modeling). - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Influence of technological attributes on subsidiary technology sourcing: A case study in Ibero-America(Universidad Icesi, 2025-04-01)This paper empirically investigates the influence of technological attributes on the sourcing of relevant production technologies by subsidiaries based in the Ibero-American region. We draw on the concept of strategic roles, internal embeddedness, capacity, and organizational learning. We gained rich insights into the topic through a focus on case studies of German Multinational Companies and their production subsidiaries based in Peru, Brazil, Colombia and Spain. Semi-structural interviews, observation of the sourced technology and other data collection techniques were applied, and a cross-case analysis was implemented to obtain the results. This paper suggests that across Ibero-American production subsidiaries, production technology with certain complexity related to their strategic roles is internally sourced. Finally, the strategic role of the subsidiary and technology familiarity is low; external sources will be chosen regardless of the complexity of the technology. The findings have important implications for technology managers of Ibero-American based subsidiaries, who are decision makers in the sourcing of production technologies and offer empirical evidence to understand the positioning of some Ibero-American markets in the global innovation map.5
