Item type:Publication, Modelando una propuesta conceptual para analizar características psicosociales de emprendedores sociales peruanos(Universidad de San Martín de Porres, 2020-03-02)Objective: This study aims to propose a comprehensive approach to five theoretical dimensions, characteristic of social entrepreneurs, to design a conceptual model that analyzes them based on macro-level psychosocial constructs such as beliefs and practices. Method: A qualitative study was conducted with 16 social entrepreneurs from the city of Lima (Peru). Using a deductive thematic analysis, their careers were examined and made operative based on their beliefs and/or practices, and on more specific psychosocial variables such as values, attitudes, behaviors and traits. Results: The attitudinal dimension of Positive Attitudes Towards Sustainable Practices (PASP) is the articulating main point in which all participants’ experiences come together to define their social vision, of axiological nature, promoting competent behaviors including innovation, networks and financial returns. Conclusion: The results highlight the need to deepen the study of the PASP dimension focused on the Peruvian social issues. Authorship Contribution AVR: coordination, conception and design of the study, data collection, coding and analysis of information, theoretical argumentation, main writing of the manuscript and final revision of the document. AEP: theoretical development of conceptual model, design and development of the instrument, and review of final theoretical discussion. EFNL: literature review, construction of theoretical argumentation for the discussion of results and review of formal aspects for presentation of the manuscript. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Measurement of sustainable attitudes: A scale for business students(Emerald Publishing, 2024-11-21)This study aims to present the development and validation of a scale to measure the attitudes of Latin American business students toward sustainable management practices in the economic, social and environmental dimensions. Design/methodology/approach: Using a nonprobabilistic sample, the appreciation for sustainable practices in students (ASP-S) scale was administered to a total of 653 undergraduate and graduate business students in Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. A range of psychometric validity (construct, convergent and discriminant) and reliability criteria were applied. Findings: Construct, convergent and discriminant validity was obtained from the ASP-S scale across all samples. During the internal validation process, two factors were found: systemic consciousness (ten items) and sustainable business leadership (nine items), both of which obtained acceptable reliability indices. The resulting structure is equivalent in all four countries. Originality/value: The instrument can be applied by educators and learning assurance areas to diagnose and measure the effectiveness of pedagogical strategies used in sustainability courses taught at Latin American business schools. As a result, it has applications for curriculum design. As a valid and reliable instrument set in the context of regional business praxis, it can promote an understanding of sustainable behaviors and practices in future Latin American leaders. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Construyendo conciencia de sostenibilidad en estudiantes de negocios: percepciones de docentes universitarios(Universidad de San Martín de Porres, 2023-12-30)Background: Higher education, especially in business, stands out as a crucial means to promote professional action focused on sustainability, emphasizing the need for innovative pedagogical approaches and teaching strategies. The aim of this study is to examine the perceptions of business university professors concerning the most effective teaching and learning methodologies for fostering sustainability awarenessamong their students. Method: This exploratory qualitative study, employs convenience sampling to select and interview 19 outstanding professors from a private accredited university in Lima, Peru. Results: The professors emphasize the importance of a cross-cutting and ongoing integration of sustainability-related content into the curriculum. Additionally, they place value on the utilization of experiential learning methodologies and the cultivation of dialogue and reflexivity regarding the future roles of their students as organizational leaders who champion more conscientious and sustainable modes of production. Conclusions: sustainability education in business careers makes sense to the extent that the behavior adopted by future business leaders will depend on the success in the implementation of more conscious and sustainable modes of production. However, for this training to be effective, adaptations are needed in the design of curricula and in the traditional way of conducting the teachinglearning processes in the classroom, migrating from teachercentered approaches to student-centered methodological approaches.
