Item type:Publication, Trazados curriculares desde una "ética-estética" para la formación de una cultura ambiental(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2024-04-18)The article Curricular Pathways from an Aesthetic Ethics for the Formation of an Environmental Culture is part of the preliminary results of a research conducted with high school students in Bogota, Colombia, which works on ethics-aesthetics as an alternative proposal from the construction of a Latin American environmental thinking. The first part of the article explains what ethics-aesthetics refers to; in the second part of the article, the methodological design of the research is explained; in the third part, the environmental values that can be worked from ethics-aesthetics and how they are perceived within an environmental forum developed with the learning community are discussed; finally, the article concludes with the findings. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Diversidad específica y su estado de conservación en las Lomas de Mangomarca, Perú(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2024-10-29)The specific diversity of the fragile ecosystem 'Lomas de Mangomarca,' located in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho (Lima, Peru), was characterized through the identification of lichen, bryophyte, vascular plant, reptile, bird, and mammal species. Emphasis was placed on the conservation status of the species inhabiting this ecosystem, in accordance with national regulations on threatened species. The threats to the Lomas ecosystem were assessed through direct field observations and the perceptions of local residents via surveys. Ten lichen species, four bryophytes, and 36 vascular plants were recorded, complemented by data from previous studies, totaling 67 species, 28 birds, three reptiles, and one mammal, of which 18 are endemic to Peru. At the global level, the conservation status of the species shows that 40 species are at risk of extinction, as included in the IUCN Global Red List, and eight species are nationally threatened. The main direct threat to the Lomas de Mangomarca ecosystem is habitat loss caused by urban expansion, while the indirect driver is weak governance in the Lomas. Conservation in this ecosystem is vital to prevent the local extinction of key species that inhabit these fragile ecosystems, as 35% of the recorded species are at risk of extinction globally, and there has been a 49% reduction in vegetation cover by 2020 compared to the year 2000. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, El Estado, el diálogo y la transformación de los conflictos socioambientales(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Instituto de Ciencias de la Naturaleza, Territorio y Energías Renovables (INTE-PUCP), 2020-09-08)This article discusses the necessary linkages that must exist between the State and the dialogue. To propose that the State is the space for dialogue par excellence, the text relies on the ethical nature that is inherent in the constitution of the State. Furthermore, the State represents a strategic and forward-looking perspective for human life in the world that is expressed and founded on such important issues as equality, recognition and democracy. This reflection about the State aims to reposition the role of the State in the face of its actual difficulties and limitations at becoming a true space for dialogue. The article reviews the characteristics that any dialogue must have taking into account the characteristics of conflicts, and especially socio-environmental ones, and their transformation process. It insists on the role of openness, open communication and permanent negotiation that the State must play to face the challenges posed by society and the environment. Finally, the article seeks to review ideas and concepts related to dialogue, redefine criteria and raise the need to build capacities and public policies to adequately face the challenges and conflicts that may arise. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
