Ideology, sexism, and beliefs about sexual violence in Peruvian university students and future police officers
    (2021-08-19)
e main objective of the present study is to establish a comparison between ideology (RWA and SDO), ambivalent sexism and beliefs about sexual violence, in a sample of Peruvian trainee from a police officer school (n = 81) and university students (n = 196). In addition, as a specific objective, it seeks to explore the relationships between the mentioned variables. e results showed significant differences between the groups at the level of the RWA (Right Wing Authoritarianism) ideological variable and the Subordination of women dimension of the Beliefs about Sexual Violence variable. Likewise, the structural model shows that the variables RWA and SDO (Social Dominance Orientation) have an impact on the dimensions of beliefs about sexual violence: Attribution of blame to women, Subordination of women and Exaggeration of women, having as mediators Benevolent and Hostile Sexism. e results show that beliefs about sexual violence in the sample of this study link to sexism and these, in turn, to ideology; however, the routes in which these beliefs are configured vary between police trainee and university students. Higher levels of RWA are observed in police trainee, an ideological indicator that, in this sample, paradoxically tends to be inversely related to sexism and beliefs about sexual violence against women that blame and subordinate them. Regarding the path of social dominance, this also directly relates to both expressions of benevolent and hostile sexism, although with greater predominance with the second, appealing to sex as a structural element on which this ideological component is established

Psychological profiles of entrepreneurs in Peru according to need, opportunity, value and their predictor variables of productive-prosociality behaviors
    (Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, 2022-01-01)

Coexistence and social exclusion of Venezuelan migrants in Lima, Perú: A psychosocial approach
    (Russian Psychological Society, 2024-01-01)
Background. An understanding of the dynamics of intergroup relations, particularly in relation to migrant populations, is of critical importance in a variety of societal contexts. This study examines the relationship between conservatism (Social Dominance Orientation, SDO), intergroup dynamics (stereotypes and intergroup emotions), and social distance (openness to coexistence and tendencies toward exclusion) within the Venezuelan migrant population residing in Lima Metropolitana. Objective. The objective of this study was to investigate the relationships between conservatism, intergroup dynamics, and social distance among Venezuelan migrants in Lima Metropolitana. A sample of 395 residents was utilized for this study. Design. The study employed a correlational research design to examine the relationships between the variables of interest. Correlation analyses were conducted to assess the associations between variables. Path analysis was utilized to explore the underlying mechanisms. Furthermore, group comparisons were conducted to examine di" erences in attitudes and perceptions across various demographic groups. Results. The # ndings indicated that there were signi# cant associations across conservatism, intergroup emotions (both negative and positive), stereotypes, and the tendencies toward exclusion and coexistence. Notably, younger participants exhibited more inclusive ideological and intergroup indicators. Moreover, the path analysis demonstrated the pivotal in$ uence of the morality stereotype and ideological dimensions on the integration and exclusion of migrants. Conclusion. The study highlights the signi# cance of cultivating favorable stereotypical perceptions of migrants and emphasizes the impact of age and ideological factors in creating conducive conditions for migrant integration. A contextual understanding of these results underscores the necessity for inclusive policies and interventions that foster social cohesion and integration within communities that have received migrants.

Social representations of development among users and implementers of a housing project in rural Peruin rual Perú
(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2025-11-15)
Amid the current crisis of social projects, a key challenge lies in understanding how their actors conceive development. From a qualitative approach (interviews and workshops), this study explores the social representations of development (SRD) among 19 users and 18 implementers of a thermal housing project in a rural Peruvian community. Thematic analysis revealed that while users prioritize education and production, implementers emphasize education, politics, and essential services. Despite these differences, both groups'SRD align with the Human Development and Sustainable Livelihoods approaches. Users adopt a pragmatic view focused on subsistence and equality, resonating with post-development perspectives, whereas implementers hold a more structural and idealistic view highlighting environmental and cultural sustainability and elements of sumak kawsay. These findings pose theoretical, methodological, and sociopolitical challenges for project management. The study offers relevant insights for designing policies and programs that engage younger generations amid socio-environmental and economic crises in rural territories.
