Telipogon chachapoyensis (Orchidaceae), a New Species from Peru Similar to T. microglossus
(American Society of Plant Taxonomists Inc.1000 E University AvenueLaramieWY 82071, 2020-04-01)
Abstract—Telipogon chachapoyensis is described as a new species. It is similar to Telipogon microglossus. We provide a description, illustrations, pictures, and information about the habitat of this new species. Furthermore, we present information and discuss the identity and occurrence of species morphologically similar to Telipogon chachapoyensis, which we call the Telipogon microglossus group, a distinct group among the Telipogon. We also transfer a recently described species, Stellilabium latialatum, to Telipogon.

An homage to Peru’s bicentenary: Maxillaria bicentenaria (Orchidaceae), a new species previously misidentified as M. pyhalae
    (Magnolia Press, 2021-09-03)
We propose the new species Maxillaria bicentenaria from the montane forest of central Peru and provide an amendment of the description of Maxillaria pyhalae. Maxillaria bicentenaria is similar to M. pyhalae but differs by the elliptic to sub-elliptic labellum, the labellum distal half irregularly plicate, the flattened and transversally sub-trapezoidal labellar callus, the campanulate to sub-campanulate protuberance at the labellum apex centre, and the conspicuous carina with a sharp edge towards the top of the anther. Illustrations, pictures, and a distribution map are provided for both Maxillaria species. The differential features of both species are presented and previous misidentified records are discussed. Finally, a comment on the author name of Maxillaria fletcheriana is also provided.

Masdevallia bastantei (Orchidaceae), a new species from Machupicchu, Peru
(American Society of Plant Taxonomists Inc., 2021-07-01)
Machupicchu Historical Sanctuary is a natural protected area that bears a considerable orchid diversity. Masdevallia is one of the most common, showiest, and distinctive genera among Machupicchu orchids, where six species are currently known. Here, we describe a new species of Masdevallia from Machupicchu, which we name Masdevallia bastantei. The species is similar to M. karineae but differs in the long flowers of 12 to 17 cm in length and a campanulate, incanous, maculate sepaline tube. We provide a description and illustrations of this new species. Furthermore, we present pictures and a key including all Masdevallia species that occur within the Machupicchu Historical Sanctuary.

Telipogon rojasiae (Orchidaceae, Oncidiinae), a new species from relict forests on the western slopes of the northern Peruvian Andes
    (Pensoft Publishers, 2025-01-01)
Telipogon rojasiae , from the western Andean slopes of northern Peru, is described as a new species. Telipogon rojasiae is similar to Telipogon montufarianus , which is only known from southern Ecuador, but differs in its cream-yellow flowers heavily stained with red-vinaceous (vs. bright yellow flowers), the sub-rhombic to obovate petals (vs. elliptic petals), the number of veins in the petals (9–10 veins vs. 5 veins) and labellum (26 veins vs. 16–19 veins), and its sagittate callus (vs. widely subcordiform callus). We provide a description, illustrations, photographs, and information about the habitat of this new species. Furthermore, we discuss the identity and occurrence of morphologically similar species. The discovery of this new entity highlights the importance of preserving the relict forests of the western Andean slopes in north-west Peru and south-west Ecuador.
