Item type:Publication, Locational factors and the reindustrialisation process in the USA; Reshoring from China(Inderscience Publishers, 2020-01-01)The main goal of this paper is to analyse the influence of locational factors on the reindustrialisation process in the USA through reshoring from China. The applicability of traditional location theories and their locational factors are also examined here. This paper evaluates the development of labour cost, agglomeration effect, land cost, and raw material cost over recent years as factors encouraging the reindustrialisation process. Transportation cost and the impact of political institutions offer contrasting pictures. While high intermodal freight costs in the US and an appreciating Yuan promote the reindustrialisation process, low ocean shipping costs and enormous business incentives in China weaken the positive effects. All in all, it is concluded that most locational factors have changed in favourable ways for the USA and thus made manufacturing in the USA comparatively more attractive. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, What makes teams more innovative in small high-technology ventures? The role of leadership(Inderscience Publishers, 2020-01-01)Fostering team innovation has been considered as a major leadership function in high-technology ventures because they face intense competition in the market. In this research, we analysed the direct and indirect effects of transformational leadership on team innovation in small high technology ventures. A total of 24 team leaders and 133 employees from high tech industries in Iran participated in our study. Using structural equation modelling, we found that transformational leaders play a crucial role in enhancing team innovation, facilitating team trust and team communication quality. Nevertheless, transformational leadership was not related to team innovation directly. We also found that transformational leadership plays a facilitating role in improving trust and communication within a team. In the context of developing countries, this study provides empirical evidence of the prominent role of transformational leadership in encouraging team innovation by facilitating communication and trust among team members. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Managerial support for innovation as the source of corporate sustainability and innovative performance: Empirical evidence from Turkey(Wiley, 2020-09-15)Managerial support for innovation plays an important role in improving the competitive positions of public and private companies. To determine the outcomes of managerial support for innovation, we conducted a survey among 333 senior staff working in 20 logistics companies in Turkey. The findings of the study show that managerial support for innovation and financial innovation improve the corporate sustainability and innovation performance of companies in the logistics sector.
