- Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Modelando una propuesta conceptual para analizar características psicosociales de emprendedores sociales peruanos(Universidad de San Martín de Porres, 2020-03-02)Objective: This study aims to propose a comprehensive approach to five theoretical dimensions, characteristic of social entrepreneurs, to design a conceptual model that analyzes them based on macro-level psychosocial constructs such as beliefs and practices. Method: A qualitative study was conducted with 16 social entrepreneurs from the city of Lima (Peru). Using a deductive thematic analysis, their careers were examined and made operative based on their beliefs and/or practices, and on more specific psychosocial variables such as values, attitudes, behaviors and traits. Results: The attitudinal dimension of Positive Attitudes Towards Sustainable Practices (PASP) is the articulating main point in which all participants’ experiences come together to define their social vision, of axiological nature, promoting competent behaviors including innovation, networks and financial returns. Conclusion: The results highlight the need to deepen the study of the PASP dimension focused on the Peruvian social issues. Authorship Contribution AVR: coordination, conception and design of the study, data collection, coding and analysis of information, theoretical argumentation, main writing of the manuscript and final revision of the document. MAPV: design and development of the instrument, contact with participants, data collection, theoretical argumentation and document revision. AEP: theoretical development of conceptual model, design and development of the instrument, and review of final theoretical discussion. EFNL: literature review, construction of theoretical argumentation for the discussion of results and review of formal aspects for presentation of the manuscript. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Memoria de eventos y personajes históricos y su relación con la identidad nacional en jóvenes universitarios y cadetes de formación castrense en el Perú(Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina, 2020-11-01)This study aims to describe the relationship among the memory of historical events and characters and the Peruvian national identity by comparing responses obtained from cadets from a naval school (n= 113), cadets from a military school (n= 118) and students from a private university in Lima (n= 115). The results show a more positive evaluation of the history and greater levels of identification with Peru in cadets of both military educational institutions, compared to university students. These findings suggest the relevance of historical narratives transmitted in academically forming institutions as sources of storytelling biases according with military or civic traditions, and how these representations are related to national identity. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
- Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Universality of the Triangular Theory of Love: Adaptation and Psychometric Properties of the Triangular Love Scale in 25 Countries(Taylor & Francis, 2020-08-12)The Triangular Theory of Love (measured with Sternberg's Triangular Love Scale - STLS) is a prominent theoretical concept in empirical research on love. To expand the culturally homogeneous body of previous psychometric research regarding the STLS, we conducted a large-scale cross-cultural study with the use of this scale. In total, we examined more than 11,000 respondents, but as a result of applied exclusion criteria, the final analyses were based on a sample of 7332 participants from 25 countries (from all inhabited continents). We tested configural invariance, metric invariance, and scalar invariance, all of which confirmed the cultural universality of the theoretical construct of love analyzed in our study. We also observed that levels of love components differ depending on relationship duration, following the dynamics suggested in the Triangular Theory of Love. Supplementary files with all our data, including results on love intensity across different countries along with STLS versions adapted in a few dozen languages, will further enable more extensive research on the Triangular Theory of Love. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
- Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Expressions of authoritarianism in Facebook before the salience of news about crime in Peru(Universidad Catolica del Uruguay, 2021-07-05)Under a context of public insecurity, the present study aims to analyse comments expressed in news about criminal acts published on the web pages of the main national newspapers during 2015. Comments were subject to content analysis and two analytical axes identified: (a) The expression of authoritarian beliefs and the implications of these beliefs for perceptions of offenders, and (b) a lack of trust in the public institutions of justice and its link with authoritarian response to criminality. The analysis of comments reveals a strong tendency towards endorsements of violent actions in dealing with crime supported by an authoritarian ideology. It was also found that distrust in the public institutions of justice is linked to support for extreme measures in order to eliminate the perceived threat. Limitations and suggestions for further research are discussed. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Fused identity and its relationship with ethnic and national identities in the Jewish community of Lima, Peru(Taylor & Francis, 2021-10-15)This study explores the relationship between identity fusion and the strength of ethnic and national identification in members of Lima’s Jewish community. A set of questionnaires measuring levels of ethnic identification, national identification, and identity fusion were administered to 100 members of the Jewish community in Lima. The results showed that fused members of the Jewish community identified significantly more strongly with the Jewish community and the national categories than did their non-fused peers. However, despite stronger levels of national identification, fused members of the Jewish community also expressed a significantly higher preference for maintaining social distance towards non-Jewish Peruvians than did non-fused members, but only on matters relating to the immediate family such as marriage and having children. Furthermore, results showed fused members of the Jewish community tend to extol positive attributes of the Jewish ethnic category when comparing with the Peruvian national category. Discussion is focused on how a fused identity can provide the psychological security required to express more positive relations not only with the fusion category but also with other relevant non-threatening social categories, and how identity fusion can contribute to the establishment and maintenance of social distancing from ethnic out-groups as a function of characteristic in-group preservation. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Values and personality as predictors of the appreciation for sustainable practices in social and commercial entrepreneurs of Lima-Peru(Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, 2021-05-01)This study sought to analyze the predictive capacity of values (Schwartz, 1992) and personality (Goldberg, 1990) regarding the appreciation of sustainable practices (APS). The APS is a dimension that indicates a person's attitude toward sustainability, measured with a scale developed specifically for this study and applied in the context of entrepreneurial activity. Likewise, the classification capacity of the APS regarding the identification of entrepreneur profiles by type of entrepreneurship (social versus commercial) was analyzed and then compared with the classification capacity of values and personality. To this end, an intentional non-probability sample of entrepreneurs in Metropolitan Lima, previously classified as social (n = 135) or commercial (n = 198), was used. A multiple linear regression shows that the APS is predicted by self-transcendence values and the personality traits of agreeableness and intellectual openness. A binary logistic regression analysis shows that the classificatory capacity of the APS reaches 68.8% in the correct identification of cases, according to the type of venture undertaken, versus 76% for values and personality as a whole. However, the classificatory capacity of the APS is superior to that of values and personality when the dimensions of these constructs are analyzed separately. The discussion covers the classificatory capacity of the APS for the detection of socially oriented entrepreneurs as a parsimonious criterion, alternative and complementary to values and personality profiles, along with the implications of this construct for the understanding of innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship models.
