A Scenario-Based Model for the Study of Collaboration in Construction
(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Facultad de Arte y Diseño, 2021)
The construction sector has been widely criticized for its low productivity, fragmented structure, and adversarial relationships. To address these problems, some industry actors are adopting innovations such as lean construction, digital technologies, and collaborative contracts. However, these transformative innovations are underpinned by inter organizational collaboration within complex supply chain networks. Understanding collaboration in theory and practice is a difficult task. Therefore, this study aims to investigate factors influencing collaboration and develop a model for inter-organizational collaboration. To achieve this aim, first, a literature review on collaboration in construction was conducted. Second, qualitative data were collected via semi-structured interviews using the critical incident technique. Third, data were deductively and inductively analyzed using thematic nodes. Data showed that collaboration can be classified into four dimensions: trust, project uncertainty management, client’s operational capability, and business relationships. Finally, an empirical framework was constructed using the scenario technique. Client attributes and Supply Chain Capabilities were found to be the most influential and uncertain factors. Based on these, four collaboration scenarios were developed and assessed with illustrative implications derived from the empirical data. The scenario-based model would provide a further understanding of inter-organizational collaboration within supply chains and would aid Lean Construction practitioners to develop collaborative relationships.

Achieving transparency through blockchain: Sustainability of fishery supply chain management
(Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing, 2022-09-23)
This paper aimed to discuss how blockchain technology would incorporate several changes in the fishery supply chains, in order to make them more reliable and sustainable. Method: This is a qualitative study, using an exploratory method with descriptive approach. In addition, the literature review in this study presents theoretical contributions regarding utility. Main Results: The study highlights the importance of incorporating blockchain features into seafood supply chains, which are currently fragmented and lack of real-time information, focusing on its traceability potential to leveraging fishery supply chains operations and outcomes. It identifies a sequence of strategic checkpoints that provide real-time information by using blockchain in fishery supply chains. Relevance / Originality: This manuscript presents a diagram of a seafood supply chain considering how blockchain allows the data gathering in each stage in order to provide traceability to the supply chain. Hence, the study serves as a map, as well as a model, for upcoming research on how to understand the incorporation of technology into supply chains stages. Theoretical / Methodological Contributions: Supply chains support international business operations. Furthermore, as digital revolution moves aggressively forward, supply chains need to adapt to it in order to fit for the new stakeholders’ expectations. This study uses sustainable supply chain management and blockchain technology as positioning literature. Management Contributions: The study provides an overview of how fishery supply chains would work by incorporating blockchain technology, which extends the literature about sustainable supply chain management and proposes paths for actions for policymakers in order to make them improve the business ecosystem. This study implies a practical contribution to global value chain perspective and the discipline of business.

The effect of organisational culture on interorganisational relationship and firm performance
    (Inderscience Publishers, 2022-01-01)
Interorganisational relationships have often been associated as antecedents of financial and market performance. However, little is known about its effects on operational performance that is relevant to firm competitiveness and sustainability. On the other hand, studies relating to firms' culture within interorganisational relationships are scarce. In this sense, this study is unique in that it explores the influence of cultural dimensions on operational performance within interorganisational relationships. Using a survey questionnaire, 154 responses were collected from suppliers of a large service organisation. A regression analysis was accomplished, demonstrating a significant moderating effect of cultural dimensions (governance formalism and strategic focus) on relationship commitment, investment, and operational performance. This research helps managers to reveal the cultural characteristics of suppliers that improve operational performance, suggesting the significance of additional studies focusing on culture, performance, and interorganisation relationships. Besides, it demonstrates the importance and impact of cultural dimensions on interorganisational relationships and firms' operational performance.

Supply Chain Optimization in Manufacturing: An Approach Based on Project Management
    (2023-12-22)
A documentary review was carried out on the production and publication of research papers related to the study of Supply Chain, Manufacturing Industry, project management. The purpose of the bibliometric analysis proposed in this document was to know the main characteristics of the volume of publications registered in the Scopus database during the period between 2017 and 2022, achieving the identification of 321 publications. The information provided by this platform was organized through graphs and figures, categorizing the information by Year of Publication, Country of Origin, Area of Knowledge and Type of Publication. Once these characteristics have been described, the position of different authors on the proposed topic is referenced through a qualitative analysis. Among the main findings made through this research, it is found that India with 66 publications with the highest scientific production registered in the name of authors affiliated with institutions in that country. The Area of Knowledge that made the greatest contribution to the construction of bibliographic material related to the study of supply chain optimization in the manufacturing industry based on project management was offered in the intensive care unit was Engineering with 181 published documents, and the most used Publication Type during the period indicated above were Journal Articles with 54% of the total scientific production.
