Item type:Publication, Knowledge management in two universities before and during the COVID-19 effect in Peru(Elsevier, 2020-12-16)Knowledge management evaluation is an important and complex problem in Peruvian universities. An efficient policy in knowledge management is a critical success factor and will also advance teaching and research. Likewise, innovation is a key resource for the well-being of national economies and international competitive advantage, especially with COVID-19 9 restrictions. This research article has demonstrated that an assessment of knowledge management (KM) capability in two private universities could be used for an efficient policy, in order to obtain the best result in knowledge management maturity. Having discussed how to construct a model for KM, the final section of this paper addresses ways of the incorporation of this technology in the society. The case study has been developed in Lima, associated to two universities with 271 teachers and 5928 students; with this model could be used for KM assessment in all university in Peru. This study uses the “Intellectus Model, Mejia model organizational knowledge capability areas and Knowledge Management Capability Assessment (KMCA) model for the assessment, before and during COVID-19. Our findings have demonstrated the university performance and challenges associated to knowledge management during COVID-19, the new policy for virtual instructions and digital transformation of the educational process have improved the cost efficiencies. However, this system also has a number of serious drawbacks and challenges in innovation, researching, connections with industry and academy; this 2021 requires a new perspective in innovation with a knowledge management scheme in Peruvian universities. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Low-cost image analysis with convolutional neural network for herpes zoster(Elsevier, 2021-10-19)Herpes zoster virus (HZV) or varicella-zoster virus (VZV) affects the trigeminal nerve, at the earliest possible stage will avoid the eyes injuries. In this paper, the new framework develops a new method with convolutional neural networks (CNN), the detection for the early stage of the HZV is tested with 1,000 images. It is 89.6% with low-cost image analysis, besides, the database has been analyzed with other architectures in order to validate the most appropriate algorithm. The process is pre-processing, segmentation, extraction, and classification. The VZV produces two illness: i) Varicella called chickenpox, and ii) Herpes Zoster. In order to obtain a machine learning process, it considers building blocks of convolutional layer neural network associated to a new process for early Herpes Zoster (HZ) disease detection system, structured in four stages as pre-processing, segmentation, extraction and classification. In particular, the new process includes a classification process with a comparison between the K-Nearest Neighborhood (KNN), artificial neural networks (ANN), and logistic model tree (LMT) regression for the comparison. The effectiveness during eight days is 98.1%, for early detection with minimal information. However, the training process produces 33% false positives and an average 90% true positive rate. Early HZ detection and the failures associated with electronic devices were shown and used for facial and pattern recognition associated with nerve location. With this research, the difficulties concerning to the data management and deep learning were corroborated during eight days of the illness, to better understand the process and technology that enable a successful classification. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Converting data into knowledge with RCA methodology improved for inverters fault analysis(Elsevier Ltd, 2022-08-01)In the last years, the knowledge management methodology increased the perspective and deeply analysis in the energy evaluation, with great emphasis in the training of the maintenance teams and early detection of failure modes; these inefficiencies detection is associated to patterns recognition with expert systems. Several energy brands, utilities, universities, and design companies investigated about this problem with limits in the integration between maintenance team knowledge and the degradation of the energy equipment. Therefore, our findings are a new approach of the root cause analysis (RCA) improved with the knowledge management perspective, associated to the failure mode analysis for 164 inverters in photo-voltaic solar plant by using twenty-one failures modes; by incorporate the graph theory called Erdös–Rényi graphs with a quantitative methodology and qualitative evaluation with the knowledge management method in the root cause analysis; the dataset evaluated has 120,561 signals associated to 3,014,025 patterns, during the period from 2018 to 2021 in a PV solar plant. In this new root cause analysis method, the knowledge management is analyzed as a complement for the solution for sudden failure modes and early degradation. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, The Problem of the Actual Insulation Coordination for 500 kV with Overvoltage in Substations and the Need for More Surge Arresters in High Voltage Grid(Ain Shams University, 2023-09-01)The new extra high voltage overhead lines and substations have increased the overvoltage phenomenon in the electrical interconnected system, especially in high voltage circuit breakers operate in a failure condition. This research develops a new methodology for transitory analysis, due to limits in the insulation coordination, available in the international standards IEC 60071, however it is not enough, more surge arresters should be required with the new overhead lines caused by overvoltage. The influence by lightning, circuit breaker failure (50BF), grounding system, towers and insulation chains are affected, in three-phase reclosing, maneuvers and transformer energization, finally a new assessment of the performance develops an accurate calculation of the overvoltage. Our findings are in the three-phase reclosing, the maneuvers have introduced overvoltage through the transmission line, higher values than 2.3625p.u. However, the insulation coordination is less than 2.32p.u.; compared with the limit of 2.28p.u. Finally, the overvoltage has increased from 160% to 258% according to the distance in the overhead line in 500 kV, with the needed of surge arresters, with the new equipment the overvoltage has decreased from 258% to 100%.
