Item type:Publication, Influence of reputation, innovation, and knowledge on the performance of MSMEs in the orange economy sector(Cogent OA, 2024-01-01)Studies on entrepreneurship and its impact on economic, political, and social development have increased considerably over the last decade. One of the challenges faced by various countries is the development of companies within the orange economy, which refers to creative and cultural industries with significant potential to generate employment and wealth. Despite this potential, there is a notable lack of empirical research on the factors affecting the management and performance of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) within this sector. This study addresses this research gap by examining the influence of reputation, innovation, and knowledge on the performance of MSMEs in the orange economy sector in Colombia. Utilizing partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze survey data from entrepreneurs, the results reveal that reputation moderates the relationship between innovation and performance, as well as the relationship between knowledge and organizational performance. This study contributes to the literature by providing new insights into the dynamics of creative industries in developing countries and highlighting the essential roles of reputation, innovation, and knowledge in enhancing the performance of MSMEs in the orange economy. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Predictive variables of organisational performance in creative industry companies from the perspective of managers: Experiences in SMEs(Sage Publications India Pvt. Ltd, 2024-08-01)The creative industry has emerged as a crucial global development and economic growth driver. This study aims to identify and analyse predictive variables that influence the organisational performance of creative industry SMEs from the entrepreneurs’ perspective, providing a deeper understanding of the sector’s dynamics and guiding businesses and decision-makers towards effective strategies. A quantitative methodology was used to survey 500 managers of creative SMEs in Colombia. The results indicate that reputation, based on client recommendations, and the capacity for innovation significantly impact performance. Notably, concern for technology showed a negative effect, suggesting the need for more strategic technological adoption. These findings highlight the importance of effective reputation management and the promotion of innovation, offering valuable insights for policy and strategy formulation in the creative economy. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Understanding online repurchase intention among young Colombian consumers: A relationship-based approach(Elsevier BV, 2025-12-01)E-commerce has rapidly evolved into a dominant force in Latin American markets, reshaping how young consumers engage with digital platforms. Despite this growth, empirical models explaining repurchase intention remain limited and theoretically fragmented. This study addresses this gap by applying the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to examine how customer experience, satisfaction, trust, and word of mouth (WOM) influence online repurchase intention among Colombian university students—a digitally mature yet understudied segment. Using a cross-sectional survey of 283 participants and covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM), the study tests a relational model comprising eight hypotheses. Findings confirm that satisfaction is the strongest predictor of repurchase intention and acts as a key mediator between experience, trust, and WOM. Additionally, customer experience directly shapes satisfaction and WOM, and WOM enhances trust. However, trust does not directly influence repurchase intention. The study advances theoretical understanding by refining TPB in a digital Latin American context and offers actionable insights for e-retailers aiming to strengthen loyalty through experiential and socially reinforced strategies.4 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Towards Comprehensive Education: Key Strategies to Enhance the Student Experience in Colombia(Richtmann Publishing, 2025-07-01)The student experience in higher education is a crucial factor influencing learning quality and academic success. This study employs hierarchical clustering analysis to group students based on their perceptions of various aspects of their educational experience in Colombia and Latin America. Data were collected using a validated instrument that measures key dimensions such as student-centred service, inclusion and diversity, active learning participation, teacher dependence, academic accountability, and comprehensive development. With a sample of 484 students from various higher education institutions, three clusters were identified, revealing differentiated profiles in terms of perceptions and satisfaction with the educational experience. The findings help identify patterns that provide a solid basis for developing strategies to promote student retention, academic well-being, and the enhancement of educational service quality. This analysis highlights the importance of segmenting students to design policies and programmes tailored to their specific needs, thus fostering a more inclusive and practical educational experience. Item type:Publication, Scenario analysis for the sustainability of entrepreneurship ecosystems from the dynamic performance management approach: the case of SMEs in Peru(Emerald Publishing Limited, 2026-06-15)This study aims to analyze scenarios that could reconfigure the entrepreneurship ecosystem (EE) of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Peru through the application of the dynamic performance management (DPM) approach. This is intended to understand the structural dynamics that shape the behavior of the ecosystem and its evolution in response to changes in key variables. Design/methodology/approach A DPM Chart was constructed, and system dynamics modelling was applied to represent the causal relationships, reinforcing and balancing feedback loops that characterize the Peruvian EE of SMEs. A simulation sensitivity analysis was developed to assess the systemic effects of variations in policy parameters, such as access to credit, tax burden and gross domestic product growth. Findings Simulations suggest that integrated public interventions may activate reinforcing loops associated with increases in formal entrepreneurial intention and the modelled creation of SMEs. The model showed a progressive and sustained increase in the number of active SMEs depending on the volume of credit granted, consistent with the model's representation of financing as a strategic resource, particularly in contexts where it is often limited. A similar pattern was observed in simulations related to the tax burden. Within the simulated scenarios, higher tax rates were associated with a decrease in the modelled growth of new SMEs and a drop in entrepreneurial intention. The model reveals non-linear interactions and delayed effects among policy variables. Originality/value This study contributes to the literature on EE in SMEs by operationalizing a systemic and dynamic approach adapted to the context of emerging economies. It presents a novel application of DPM to entrepreneurship policy analysis, offering policymakers a simulation tool to anticipate outcomes and design adaptive interventions.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, REPUTATION, IDENTITY, AND SYMBOLIC DEFENCE: The Role of the Consumer in Digital Brand Crises – The Frisby Case(VisualCOM Scientific Publications, 2026-04-30)In digital ecosystems, brand crises have become arenas for spontaneous consumer activism beyond corporate control. This study examines the emotional and symbolic responses of Instagram users to the trademark dispute between Frisby Colombia and a homonymous Spanish company. Drawing on emotional branding, national identity, and brand defence frameworks, a computational approach was adopted. A total of 4,067 public Instagram posts were collected, preprocessed, and analyzed using TF-IDF, sentiment analysis, and K-means clustering validated through PCA. Results show that collective mobilization was driven by emotional resonance and symbolic identification rather than corporate communication, highlighting the role of cultural identity and social listening in digital brand crisis management.1
